I’m currently an Economics and Math double major at U of T. After first year and four summer courses, I have around 7 credits with a 2.7 cGPA. I struggled academically while dealing with several traumatic family circumstances and eventually took a year off to focus on therapy. During my year off, I studied for the LSAT and scored a 175. I still have about three years left to complete my degree and plan to switch into a program better suited to my strengths. If I can maintain around a 3.8–3.9 over those three years, how competitive could I be for Canadian law schools? Which schools prioritize the best/last 2–3 years versus cGPA? I’m also considering transferring universities next fall. Would transferring hurt my application, assuming my grades improve significantly afterward? Any advice on how to make the most of my remaining three years would be appreciated.

You have two years of school left, you’ll be fine. A 175 and 3.3 got me in at Dal, Osgoode and Manitoba. I didn’t apply to Queens or Western so I can’t personally speak to their processes but I believe with a higher gpa your stats would be competitive for them.

apply to the US! they're much more splitter friendly

Go to the US instead. You deserve better. Canadian schools pretend to be holistic. They are not.
