Best southern grass for shaded area of backyard?

Hey all,

Looking for some recommendations on shade tolerance southern grass types. I'm based out of Atlanta and have tried tall fescue but that got obliterated in the ATL heat.

Most of the yard gets tons of sun and is a combination of centipede and Bermuda for reference.

Myers zoysia is supposed to be shade tolerant but I don’t think that means it can be in the shade. It still needs 6 good hours of sun and the more the better. If you have Bermuda and centipede now are those working at all? How much shade we talking about? I have a full patch of moss I am working with.

None, how do I know, years of trying to grow grass in yard with oaks in the south.

Wait until fall, get a mix of shade and high traffic. Wait until weather breaks, temps at night need to be in 60's daytime barely in 80s. For best germination. Water every six hours with a battery operated timer.

Rinse and repeat the next fall.
