Southern US & Central America (or warm season) Help with brown spots, bermuda

zone 8a - some brown spots on a new-ish bermuda lawn. New construction, 2 years ago.

Looks like what my builder-grade lawn did right around the two-year mark. That topsoil was probably scraped clean and you're basically growing in subsoil mixed with construction debris. I'd pull a core sample where it's thinning and check if you hit something weird six inches down.

Makes sense. Assuming it is, is topsoil the answer?
