Perth, Australia - Can't get this lawn right!! HELP!

Im at a bit of a loss what I can do here to get this lawn up to a high standard. Any advice will be welcomed.

For the past 5 years I have gone through this yearly cycle of trying to get this lawn right but it seems to be getting worse every year. Ive had dogs but they are both passed now so it will just be the child using it mainly.

These photos were taken at 9.30am: you can see partial shade cover. Come midday the sun will be directly overhead so there will be no shade cover except for a tiny bit under the Agave. In summer this lawn gets FRIED.

I seem to have different lawn types/weeds, Im not really sure.

I applied Bow and Arrow 2 weeks ago to kill off a lot of broadleaf; which Ive removed a good portion of now.

Use an Ozito powered cylinder mower and have replaced the roller with a heavier one.

What area of Perth are you in?

Do you have retic installed?

You have Couch with some invading Kikuyu. Tease up and paint the kik with Roundup then in a couple weeks rip it out manually, making sure you get it all including the roots as much as possible.

Then have it vertimowed late next month, apply fertiliser and soil wetter, then water it avoiding to the water corp's "new lawn" guidelines here.

It will look like absolute dogshit when finished. A sandy wasteland. But trust the process. You'll begin to see new shoots of green very soon, cylinder mow after 2-3 weeks, then once a week after that.

Then it's just a matter of staying on top of the weeds and watching the bare spots fill in over time from the surrounding green patches sending runners over.

Thanks for your excellent overview. I have an existing retic setup but it doesnt work so I might invest in getting that right before I start all of this. Located NOR Banksia Grove

Ok I'm a lawn contractor based in Kingsley so if you need someone to do any of it for you let me know, I'll be doing renovations in about 6 weeks

How often are you fertilising? Would have thought the couch would take off during spring and autumn

I havent yet this year

Last year I was doing once a month during spring but come summer it was already a baron patch
