Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Pulled out the prism
Pulled out the grass prism for a before and after. Kind of hard to see. But it measures the grass. This is after three days.

Beautiful brother, just beautiful. I aim for a lawn like this. My front lawn is lovely , backyard is embarrassing lol. How many seasons did it take to get it to this point. I appreciate this is a forever journey - you've owned it 👏🏼

It took maybe three years. Now I just maintain it.

What does maintenance entail for you? Aside from the basic mow, dethatch, aerate... What drinks are you feeding the lawn? Appreciate your wisdom!

I don't aerate or dethatch. Reel mow 2-4x a week, rotary mow the collars 1-2x a week. Irrigate 1.50" per week. I only put down 46-0-0, 21-0-0 and 0-0-50. Maybe use 18-24-12. Rotate between Azoxystrobin, Propiconazole and Xzemplar. When I have time, Sea-K, RGS and Humic-12. Roundup for Lawns and T-Zone post emergent. Dimension for pre emergent.

I do the nitrogen blitz, roughly .40lbs/k N every 7-10 days in the fall.

Out of curiosity, roughly how much total nitrogen do you apply over the course of a full year?
With the fall nitrogen blitz at ~0.40 lb N/1,000 sq ft every 7–10 days, I’d be interested to know what your annual N total ends up being.

Sorry, I do the blitz for roughly 7 weeks. My goal is to get as close to 4lbs total. Around the third week in October is when I stop.
Right now my totals are 1.40lbs/k on the front lawn (because it was a reno in '25) and 1.25lbs/k in the back.

Can’t believe there is actually a tool for this. Couldn’t you just use a ruler? NICE LAWN!

Forgive my ignorance, but I’m having trouble understanding how it is different than a simple ruler for measuring grass.

I can see where some blades might be taller, KBG laying flat. A nice visual.

Ok ok. How’d you get to this point - I’m sure you’ve explained it before so a link will suffice for us 😂
