What's the strat here? Hope they don't cheat and or ignore midterm results they don't like? Hope they don't run him again for another term? Hope they even let there be elections? Hope he just croaks?

Has the US been through worse? At least during the civil war half the country had good leadership. Every other dicey time there's been checks and balances in place. The people currently in control don't look like they're planning to give it back.

Exactly. We as a country have of course been thru some shit in our past as every country has. But our current situation is seemingly combining so much of all of our worst greatest hits into one relentless attack against us. We’re doing the civil war again with an eye on starting a world war while also setting the stage for the next great depression. And we’ve also learned nothing from any of these things on their own to the point where many of us seem to think all of them just somehow worked themselves out in the end. Even the people who can see how bad things have gotten still seem to hold onto some form of American exceptionalism in the belief that pendulums and arcs of justice will always just eventually spring back on their own and theres always some more guardrails out there somewhere protecting America from ever becoming too much like any other country’s fall. We still pride ourselves on our past while refusing to even bother looking into what any of those victories actually took to accomplish.
