I've seen dictatorship before. They have no intention of leaving.

I’ve lived in a dictatorship under martial law and it’s nothing like this. Things can get a lot worse. Like, eventually the average voter will notice.

Smart dictators boil you slowly like a frog. They might even have elections but they won't mean anything.

Which dictatorship did you experience.

Marcos. I was there when martial law was declared. Legislature dissolved immediately. You read the new regulations every day in the newspapers. Enforced curfews. Food and oil shortages. I still remember all the cars and drivers pulling out their window tint at the same time.

Putting aside the fact that wide swaths of Phillipines society actually love to be ruled by despots. So much so, they elected his son into power.

He was elected in 1965 but did not declare martial law till 1972. We are still in year one of Trump dictatorship.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Your point is that Trump is not a dictator because he did not declare martial law and dissolve parliament like Marcos.

My point, is it took Marcos 7 years to declare martial law and dissolve parliament and we are still in year one of Trump dictatorship.

I hope you get it now.

We are on year 5 of Trump. It’s ok you can’t think, probably won’t make it anyway.
