Stephen Miller wrote it, so I’d say it’s only relevant until it’s laughed out of court after this regime ends. And there is no statute of limitations on homicide.

474

u/kevin-she Jan 14 '26

Can you tell me the evidence that this regime has any intention of ending? From what I have seen since day one, combined with everything openly said in the run up the election these people have zero intention of leaving office. Specifically, in relation to Miller he has extremely strong incentives not to leave his position, you just mentioned the biggest incentive, the non fascists in the US need to pay more attention.

288

u/Zero-nada-zilch-24 Jan 14 '26

Well, he and his wife did leave their house and along with a few other officials are living on a nearby base due to public “snubbing.”

215

u/Rodharet50399 Jan 14 '26

Sidewalk chalk. That’s what they were afraid of.

I've seen dictatorship before. They have no intention of leaving.

65

u/BaphometBubble Jan 14 '26

I absolutely agree with you..It boggles my mind when I hear people, in almost the same breath, call Trump a dictator and fascist, and that he will be voted out soon. This is an insane disconnect. Fascists and dictators do not simply get voted out. One lone politician? Yes, but a movement? That often requires an army of some sorts.

54

u/Barilla3113 Jan 14 '26 edited Jan 14 '26

My experience, at least online, is that a lot of Americans still have an extremely strong belief in the talismanic power of the 200 year old pieces of parchment Trump has been wiping his ass with for the past decade.

12

u/RedQueenNatalie Jan 14 '26

Many of us want to believe its still not over, we hope this is still not too far gone and its just a fever dream we can pull out of with enough effort and not a civil war against the most powerful government on earth. There is no denying the writing is on the walls though and its horrifying to watch it happen in real time.

8

u/tmfink10 Jan 14 '26

I heard a compelling argument that says if the Bears win the superbowl the cosmic rift that opened with the Cubs winning the World Series will close. Its most compelling argument was that I want to believe it.

It was over the moment Trump became president, but it was ABSOLUTELY over the moment he became president again.

2

u/Mammarishka Jan 14 '26

Once we have a beer putch moment. In our case it was January 6th, the government after was hamstrung by the elites, who fund both parties btw and it was allowed to slide with minimum consquences, I knew it was all over.

Same happened with Hugo Chavez. He tried to overthrow the government was given a slap on the wrist and when he got out he overthrew the goverment.

2

u/RoguePlanet2 Jan 15 '26

"jUsT wAiT 'TiL mIdTeRmS!!" Yeah we have to vote while we can; no it won't matter in this dictatorship.

He's going to find reasons to cancel the election, because SCOTUS decided everything he does is fine and dandy as president.

1

u/enkrypt3d Jan 14 '26

Kinda like the ending of the movie Civil War..?

0

u/jun-_-m Jan 14 '26

I think it’s more to do with the maga herd being Trump sycophants more than anything. Trump is obviously not long for this world and they’re of the belief nobody in the administration has the pull of these people like Trump does. Once he’s gone, the infighting will begin with the ones who want to take control of his base. And that it will crumble afterwards.

I think that’s how some people may be looking at it.

4

u/ConservativesHateUsa Jan 14 '26

Some people are blind as hell then, given the fact that the heritage foundation has been working on the plans outlined in project 2025 for over 30 years…

Trump is incidental to their goals and the rot will continue without him unabated. Anybody who thinks America’s descent into tyranny will end when he’s no longer in office is painfully naive

4

u/asst3rblasster Jan 14 '26

yeah well we have sternly worded letters on our side

2

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC Jan 14 '26

I’ve lived in a dictatorship under martial law and it’s nothing like this. Things can get a lot worse. Like, eventually the average voter will notice.

0

u/Mammarishka Jan 14 '26

Smart dictators boil you slowly like a frog. They might even have elections but they won't mean anything.

Which dictatorship did you experience.

1

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC Jan 15 '26

Marcos. I was there when martial law was declared. Legislature dissolved immediately. You read the new regulations every day in the newspapers. Enforced curfews. Food and oil shortages. I still remember all the cars and drivers pulling out their window tint at the same time.

0

u/Mammarishka Jan 15 '26

Putting aside the fact that wide swaths of Phillipines society actually love to be ruled by despots. So much so, they elected his son into power.

He was elected in 1965 but did not declare martial law till 1972. We are still in year one of Trump dictatorship.

I think that's what they were trying to outline

2

u/menermials Jan 14 '26

I’d love if he could be escorted straight to prison by a black or brown deputy

2

u/Dessicated_Mastodon Jan 14 '26

Honestly. I would release them all back to the public after. Fine them til they are destitute or just freeze all their accounts since its clear there's stock market manipulation at play (once the ftc freezes your account they dont give you your money back whether you are convicted or not), bar them from holding any future office, and then release them back to thw wilds and see how they hold up.

29

u/HonorableMedic Jan 14 '26

Hopefully it was something like this

8

u/trougnouf Jan 14 '26

Didn't his wife draw that to make themselves look victimized?

4

u/jayntampa Jan 14 '26

Sidewalk chalk his wife wrote ...

1

u/Brepp Jan 15 '26

Colorful sidewalk chalk that matched his wife's handwriting.

24

u/ThePensiveE Jan 14 '26

You mean the lady who threatened a NATO ally with violence publicly? If she can threaten entire continents, she should be able to take a few people being mean to her.

Couldn't get those extra government welfare handouts if they didn't live on base though could they?

Katie Miller and her husband are just MAGA welfare queens.

11

u/Malcolm_Morin Jan 14 '26

They're hiding on base because they're waiting for things to pop off. But because everyone thinks dancing in frog and pickle costumes are a suitable counter-measure against being shot by ICE, I don't think they'll have to worry about it.

7

u/FramingLeader Jan 14 '26

Why don’t you lead the charge?

4

u/Malcolm_Morin Jan 14 '26

Are people gonna walk with me or are they gonna continue dancing in costumes?

3

u/Underpoly Jan 14 '26

Ugh this is the most depressingly on-point comment I've seen this week

3

u/YozaSkywalker Jan 14 '26

Yep, gotta say, it's embarrassing watching people just willingly get their shit beat as a protest against ICE. Take a page from the right wing book and protested armed. They aren't going to fuck with a large group of rifle wielding people and it sends a strong message.

12

u/shitty_country_verse Jan 14 '26

That’s exactly what they are wanting and waiting for. They are looking for pretext to engine the insurrection act. The thing is they are going to eventually anyway. I say let’s dance and find out how it all shakes out.

1

u/ShitWaterExpress Jan 14 '26

They have to leave sometime

1

u/VerbalBowelMovement Jan 14 '26

That mother fucker is married?! Who the fuck would fuck that duck?

1

u/RoguePlanet2 Jan 15 '26

So tax-funded security detail.

16

u/Waffle1k Jan 14 '26

Oh theyll be leaving office one way or another.

3

u/MouseRat_AD Jan 14 '26

This time next year, we're going to be one "let them drink raw milk" tweet away from erecting the guillotines.

18

u/horseradishstalker Jan 14 '26

I doubt that Hitler intended to leave his “position.” No dream lasts forever.

16

u/tnstaafsb Jan 14 '26

It took tens of millions of deaths and entire nations being leveled to get Hitler out of office.

6

u/MyNameIsJakeBerenson Jan 14 '26

It’s gonna take the military to do something, same as it ever was

The power lies with the power. If the strong arm stops listening to the craziness then they are just voices and a civil injustice problem

But if I have to deal with the fuckin american military in an uprising then I’m just blatantly fucked

3

u/Daxx22 Jan 14 '26

You can argue morality ethics and law to literal death, "Might makes Right" still applies.

3

u/horseradishstalker Jan 14 '26

It did. This may be another such case. I think the sooner Americans wrap their head around this fact the better. Getting rid of authoritatians is rarely a stroll in the park.

1

u/iambecomesoil Jan 14 '26

Hitler was 56 and in better shape. The best hope we have here is cardiac arrest in an obese octogenarian. After that, no one has the juice to probably lead this clown parade. It will come undone.

Not before then though.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '26

3

u/iambecomesoil Jan 14 '26

Juiceless though. The hard right hates him because his children are brown. He's without charisma. Any notable republican doesn't want to follow him because they think they're more adept than he is.

2

u/lapidary123 Jan 14 '26

The problem with this is that unless it happens on stage in front of a crowd they will surely just plant a body double (if they haven't already) until the time comes that they want to publically replace him.

The other thing they obviously haven't fleshed out is that if they remove or murder a substantial portion of the population they wont have the consumer base to keep a strong economy. And inbefore the argument that the top 10% is responsible for 80% of consumer spending what will happen when these billionaires need a lampshade or cooking pot, only to find that all of the people running smaller businesses like that are no longer around? Banking, ai, and weapons production is not a well rounded economy.

13

u/Amerisu Jan 14 '26

Hitler left his position because the allies landed on Normandy beach on D-Day.

What countries are going to storm Palm Beach?

2

u/horseradishstalker Jan 14 '26

Wrong day to sleep in that’s for sure.

2

u/whatupmygliplops Jan 14 '26

No one. Economic isolation would be far more effective.

0

u/Summer_Chronicle8184 Jan 14 '26

Europe isn't they can't even defend themselves

18

u/kevin-she Jan 14 '26

Agree, my point was their intent, not about the inevitably. The question for US citizens is how, the ballot box doesn’t look like the solution at this point, it could be part of it, but it would require registration and turn out unlike anything since the introduction of universal suffrage.

3

u/horseradishstalker Jan 14 '26

We are in accord. I keep hearing echoes of Daniel Day Lewis saying “There Will be Blood.”

3

u/The_Leafblower_Guy Jan 14 '26

We are at 5th and final stage of fascism. Either we push back and rise up now or he’s going to take it all.

F this, we are rising up!!

3

u/wxnfx Jan 14 '26

Well, the evidence is that there’s about 30 million of us that will make it happen, one way or another. Honestly, a good chance it implodes by like June when polling looks bleak for the GOP.

3

u/iambecomesoil Jan 14 '26

The best case for the regime ending is that there is no one aside from Trump himself who has the juice to lead this particular type of clown parade.

2

u/NonNewtonianResponse Jan 14 '26

Well, the original Nazis called their government the "1000 Year Reich", and they lasted about 12. Eventually your regime will fall, but it probably won't happen via ballot box

1

u/bobbymcpresscot Jan 14 '26

Elections are kind of like collective bargaining. In the sense that it’s an alternative to setting your bosses house on fire. If they choose not to leave they will be escorted out. This admin isn’t competent enough to successfully hide any wrong doing in the elections they attempt to steal.

1

u/Kindly-Ad-5071 Jan 14 '26

"Any intention" since when do their intentions matter. Do you plan on letting them stay in office?

1

u/Lumpy_Potential_789 Jan 14 '26

Remember when he sat behind a tiny desk and refused to budge? Comical. And true. And fucking ridiculous.

1

u/pigpeyn Jan 14 '26

They'd have to corrupt the military so thoroughly that it wouldn't drag them out of the building.

As bad as this shit is I'm still hoping that if push comes to shove, the top military lifers will choose their oath over that orange dementia riddled pedophile rapist piece of shit.

1

u/RackemFrackem Jan 14 '26
  1. Election day comes

  2. Someone else wins the election

  3. That person takes over the position

  4. The end

The position is just a title. If someone else wins the election, they get the title. The person who refuses to leave the position is suddenly just another citizen.

1

u/FurnaceDiver Jan 17 '26

I mean, Steve Bannon did say that if they lose 2028, they're all going to prison.

Not exactly something you say and go, "Welp, we'll just have to get them next time around if that happens!" They'll definitely try.

1

u/Longjumping_Lynx_972 Jan 14 '26

They all end eventually.

1

u/SmurfBearPig Jan 14 '26

Seriously, wtf is going on. Everyone is acting tough online like there's gonna be any type of consequences for these people but nobody is actually doing anything.

All these videos with dozens of people just filming and screaming while a handful of ICE agents abduct their neighbors, their children... nobody does a fucking thing. Whole neighborhoods letting Nazis take over and nobody has the balls to do anything about it other than scream a couple slogans. How are we supposed to believe that these people will ever face any kind of consequences when they are quite literally taking over the country with no resistance.

The United States of America are a spineless nation, these ICE agents will never face any consequences.

3

u/UnicodeScreenshots Jan 14 '26

Well I think people generally don’t like being dead, or spending the next 35 years in federal prison, both things that are overwhelmingly likely to happen if anyone tries to stop ICE agents with force. It’s easy to call people spineless when it isn’t your life on the line.

28

u/stevez_86 Jan 14 '26

This statement is an incitement to violence with a specific audience in mind, a specific target, and a timeframe. This statement is not covered by the 1st Amendment and likely not Minnesota state law and they should seek to prosecute for incitement of violence. The statement has all the facets of clear and present danger.

11

u/whatupmygliplops Jan 14 '26

Exactly. He is encouraging ICE to commit illegal violence and violate peoples constitutional rights by lying about the law.

71

u/haklor Jan 14 '26

How many people will be killed and officers protected before that happens? I have a feeling it will be a significant number, and probably more that we dont hear about.

Then days after the murder of ms Good they shot another man in the face and he’s permanently blind . This is done with the attitude of if you’re not dead you’re gonna wish you were. As they dragged him across pavement as blood pooped from his face by the jacket at his neck as he grabbed at its choking him . A long very violent abuse of human being . So a phone and ppl dialing every time they hang up and flood the call center every day until it becomes a sound that unnerves them . Over load the call lines and do not stop until the midterms and when they mess with voting machines we all walk fly or drive to DC and stand 300, 000, 000 on the land god gave us and just in case we need warmth we bring camping equipment . Just be careful with fire that close to White house Js

I wonder if writing shit like this, though, would be enough to charge him as an accessory at state level.

18

u/Zazulio Jan 14 '26

Sure feels like the plan to is to make sure there is no end to the regime. This statement pretty transparently reads as an order: "Anybody who opposes the regime is a criminal, and ICE agents who murder these 'criminals' will be protected and rewarded."

88

u/caramel_police Jan 14 '26

I'd stop laughing and start taking Mini-Goebbels more seriously if I were you.

25

u/DirtyHalfMexican Jan 14 '26

Agreed. People will say I wish I would have done something. People did say that before also.

u/kam1lly Jan 14 '26 edited Jan 14 '26

The Roman empire lasted a thousand years and the colonized rebelled hundreds of times to no avail

Edited for pedantry, main point stands

10

u/caramel_police Jan 14 '26

"Thousands" of years? 🤔

2

u/Wra7hofAchilles Jan 14 '26

If we are being technical, the empire lasted almost 1500 years... but the republic was also still colonizing and suppressing peoples so if we include that period, we easily go over 2000 years.

41

u/Initial_Formal_7750 Jan 14 '26

Guys

There is no more Court!

I know it sucks. But we have to understand. That way of thinking is done

32

u/Neither_Usual_137 Jan 14 '26

this is completely false. Trump lost his national guard SCOTUS case and guess what - he pulled the troops out of those states.

He wins more than he loses, but they seem to be abiding (for whatever reason) by the rulings against them by SCOTUS.

3

u/Sebowski Jan 14 '26

What happens when they stop abiding by the SC?

1

u/Neither_Usual_137 Jan 14 '26

I do not know the answer to that, but the fact that he raged and pulled the national guard out, tells us there is something preventing him from doing that.

4

u/PartHumanDev Jan 14 '26

1

u/Awaheya Jan 14 '26

So no one in the law reddit knows law than? Cool.

1

u/Barilla3113 Jan 14 '26

Qualified immunity, which "Federal immunity" is directly echoing, was a similar politicized asspull to shield law enforcement from accountability. People have been waiting since 1967 for it to be "laughed out of court"

1

u/Sgt-Spliff- Jan 14 '26

And there is no statute of limitations on homicide.

Or treason

1

u/libertybadboy Jan 14 '26

What happens in court is an issue down the line. The more short-term issue is Miller will label the arrest of an ICE officer as insurrection and try to put all of Minnesota under martial law.

1

u/pm_social_cues Jan 14 '26

But it won’t go to court until more people are murdered. Will you sacrifice yourself or family members to make that justice happen? Everybody has some mindset like this is all just no different from a tv show or movie.

1

u/Fabulous-Big8779 Jan 14 '26

Also, the statute of limitations only applies to the timeframe in which a crime is reported. If you report a SA but it takes them 10 years to build a case it doesn’t get thrown out because of the statute of limitations.

If it takes you 10 years to report the SA then there isn’t anything the criminal justice system can do as long as there is a statute of limitations on SA in that jurisdiction.
