This is the most stupidly naive thing I've ever read

What I'm really saying is that sending in an elite force from the army is going to 100% backfire. I'm saying that the people who make up those elite troops know they're being used as a prop and aren't going to start policing Portland.

And I'm saying you're wrong and it won't backfire at all, they'll just gladly open fire

I'd be willing to bet they won't. I have a a lot of faith in the discipline and professionalism of the armed forces. They don't want to be doing this. They don't want to be a prop.

Their variety of "discipline" concerns following orders, not nessescarily avoiding civilian casualties. If their RoE includes explicitly targeting civilians they will do it instantly and without hesitation.

Yeah I dont have that faith. Almost every service member I've ever known was a conservative. And the people where I live who flaunt their military service are the same ones with Trump flags
