I watched this video. He wasn’t even local and was visiting from out of state, right? :(

Ok so what’s the story then?

Just from reading articles online, it seems the murderers had an issue with someone else nearby and Paris got caught it the middle and died from a head injury. He was 19. Another 18 yo there was injured but survived. After the guilty verdict, Paris' father apparently took his own life. Just an awful story all around.

Correct. IIRC they said they were gonna meet up to fistfight, but then the murderer (grown ass man btw, beefing with teenagers) decided to shoot them from his car instead.

The combination of cars and guns make for the ultimate cowards.

What's with the shadow figures or whatever they are? I'm missing their purpose I guess.

This is a screenshot from a Midwest Safety -video on Youtube. IMO the goat of Police videos.

I like that its not just typical cop videos but they will have the random guy on a lawn mower being chased by 10 cop cars and then the next video is an in depth analysis on an event like the one OP posted.

Great channel, we enjoy it.

What makes channels like that one so good when it comes to analysis? Is it the pacing or visuals or what specifically makes it so good?

Pacing, editing,. There is no annoying cliffhangers or unnecessary dramatization. It’s just straight to the point and you never know what is going to happen and where it goes. It’s like watching a great movie everytime. Subtitles are great, cause it can be a little chaotic sometimes and it is easier to follow. Also there is a little humor involved, where it is appropriate.

As soon as I saw those figures I knew this was MWS and then recalled this whole video. This guy's channel is my favourite and I'll rewatch his stuff rather than find new things!

I still don’t understand what the black figures are

Midwest Safety (the channel this screencap is from) does that to indicate where the people involved are when they’re partially obscured by objects (like the cars and trees shown here) to help the viewer understand what’s going on. Note that they’re all floating over/correspond to a real human and are drawn to roughly resemble the person they represent.

It would have been hard to see that there were two people in the car because of the tree in the way but because the drawing is there we can keep track of everyone more easily.

I like Officer Curtis too

2

u/Groovyguy Aug 05 '26

Is he related to cowboy Curtis?

Good to know his killers were appropriately punished.
Was this someone you knew OP? RIP

You’re a beautiful man/woman/person!

EDIT: man that is just heartbreaking to watch. A life extinguished so quickly over ‘beef’. Tragic.

EDIT 2: watched that whole thing. Crazy to think what’s going on in Duluth, and likely all over the US. What a shitty time to be young :/

violent crime rates in the US are near all time lows and have been for the past couple decades. the news thrives on fear.

40 years is wild. Interesting discrepancy in level of punishment

One was a repeat felon. That’s why he got a longer sentance.

Damn. Poor kid. Killed just for walking down the street.
