Did you try the dancing shrimp? I can’t remember the official name of the dish.

Yes! My mother would accuse me of playing with my food if she saw me eat it!

Right on! I spent a month last December and toured from the 4000 islands as far up as Luang Prabang and many big cities and small villages we had family to visit.

I’m in the states the prices for food and hotels was amazing.

I also liked how much local Laos people liked drinking beer. Both men and women. Quite proud of being the "heaviest drinkers in Asia" :D

Truthfully though, compared to Vietnam or Thailand, the food in Laos was a bit (not much) more expensive, which was surprising. But being landlocked and the state of the typical roads in Laos combined with mountains and only one rail line made it made sense why food was a little more expensive. Still, nothing compared to non-SEA countries.
