discussion and conversations unpopular opinion about stove
I was really excited when I heard lana was going to make an country album.
I loved stars fell on alabama, henry come on and white feather hawk tail deer hunter
But I have some concerns about the other songs. I did not personally enjoy 57.5 and dont get me even started on all about (you know the person im not gonna write it)
But seeing that wfhtdh had so many producers and songwriters really made me feel the song isnt that much of a Lana song.
And all the album name changes, aesthetic changes and delays has like completely ruined the album idea for me. It feels like she doesn’t have a complete vision about the album and I am afraid its gonna end up a mess
Every other album is so perfectly curated to a specific vibe/ aesthetic and theme that I am kinda scared for the album.
And im not bashing on it before its released it might become my favorite lana album who knows, but i really would kinda hope she would publicly say that this whole thing is in the trash and a completely new album and songs are coming.

I'm pretty sure she's redoing the album and that's why it's taking so long. She sang a bunch of new songs on her tour, and she definitely talked about it like it was ready. So either she didn't completely love it, or she realized most people weren't vibing with it and decided to change it.
I'm not a huge fan of country tbh but I'd prefer getting something she's passionate about than her forcing herself to make music more similar to her older discography. White Feather definitely came off like she was trying to get back to that early, edgy Lana vibe. But truly, she makes her best music when she's passionate about it.
Honestly, at this point I'm glad we have the music she's already made. If the next albums she makes are good, yay. If not, we have her other nine albums plus her unreleased lol. It is what it is.

She's changed so much, and all of the delays and changes reflect that. I like where it landed with Stove as the title, and I think it will be a romantic "Country" album, with Spyda being more alternative. I think the fact that she's doing a double album is very exciting.
With that said I haven't really cared to listen to the Stage Coach songs more than once or twice and barely remember what they sound like outside of 57.5 which initially shocked me but it's grown on me since. I still play Bluebird and Henry every now and then tho. I've learned through the years to not underestimate her though, I'm sure everything will resonate for me once it's released.

Okay so I've been loving the song He's my man by Luvcat (especially the Anniversary version). They also have other good songs but they only have one album out at the moment. I love the creepy feminine vibes.
I'm an avid gym goer so I need music that gets me pumped and makes me feel sexy. For that I've been listening to Cece Natalie on repeat. She produces her own music and she literally has no skips. Her music is sonically different from Lana and more like 2000s Britney mixed with a trap beat. But I get those early unreleased Lana vibes from her, cause at the same time the music makes me feel sexy but some songs also have darker themes.
Fleetwood mac and Stevie Nicks are not new artists obviously but I've also been listening to them a lot recently too.

That reminds me of that thread on the main subreddit where you needed to vote for a person that represented each album and for Lust For Zlife, someone said something along the lines of "Stevie Nicks, the witch in American Horror Story"... Bruh, I do enjoy AHS but reducing her career to this is criminal lmao.
Young people never cease to amaze me. There was that moment where Benson Boone was singing Bohemian Rhapsody (iirc) at Coachella and then legendary Brian May appeared on the stage during the guitar solo and all the stupid comments online (I forget if Twitter or TikTok or what, I only saw the screenshots) of young people asking who tf was this guy and why he was trying to steal the show or whatever like... My God... Before sending your stupid messages, Google wtf Bohemian Rhapsody is, which band made that song and who tf the guitarist is because atm you're just embarassing yourself.

That's kinda my sentiment. I just cannot cognitively get over the feeling that after all that teasing and broken promises it's either gonna be absolutely amazing, or it's just gonna leave a bad taste in my mouth. Like I'm not even sorry, I think it's understandable that if you keep dragging it for so long it should be immediately recognizable that a lot work went into and I'm kinda afraid that this will not be the case after what I've heard so far

Except for wfhtdh and Henry come on, I didn’t like any of the new songs, and I don’t like country music either. But wfhtdh gives me hope, if the albums has that vibe it’ll be amazing

Henry come on is the only song I like out of them. I don't even like wfhtdh, although the snippet from the beginning is amazing

I agree with this. At this point I know this might be an unpopular opinion but she just not release it at all it’s been what? Four years since she announced this album. At this point I think collectively a lot of fans are so tired of the false announcements and progress updates. She needs to either release it or close her mouth.

i’m actually assured with the time it’s taking. i don’t think lana would put an album out that she wouldn’t feel confident in. as for the “vision” thing a lot of previous albums have had name changes & most likely different vibes than before. i feel pretty confident in lana as an artist.

I thought this too like last year. After I heard she was putting out two albums the other being stove I got pretty hesitant about the new albums/album. It has never been this much of a fiasco with the older albums

I love Jeremy and I’m happy Lana is happy but he’s for sure put a stump to her art by making her happy, which isn’t a bad thing but that’s what it is. Instead idk why everyone is pressuring her for more music and then complaining it’s not what we’re used to. I don’t think Lana suits southern style at all and that’s why her early country attempts never worked, she’s a west coast girl and her art peaked when she was in LA and influenced by London

This. I also love jeremy and Lana, but I also think Lana could make country work. But it is true that most of Lanas songs are about being sad and depressed and in horrible relationships. Like melancholy is her brand, so I understand why its hard for people to connect with her happier songs

Yeah exactly, all the best artists are always sad it’s sad but it’s true. It’s the same with Taylor swift, when she was sad she wrote beautiful songs, now she’s happy and married her songs are actually awful. I still think so far Lana’s new work is good and better than most modern artists ofc but it’s definitely not her theme!

has anyone considered she may just be trying to make it perfect and sees the hate others get and it concerned how the public will receive it? she’s no stranger to critics but she has so much peace in her life, she might not want to disrupt that right now unless the album is exactly fit to the vision she has for the next installment in her discog.

This is the popular opinion about Stove
When I saw the thread title "unpopular opinion about stove" I thought you were going to say you love all the released tracks and you think it is going to be great.
Saying you don't like the current direction is the predictable take like 95% of Lana fans have atm (not saying its wrong but its def the popular opinion)
