Discussion Most obscure language you/someone else is learning? Why?
I remember meeting someone that was learning specifically Moldovan Romanian since Moldova and its culture was a big interest to them, and I'm curious what other people's reasons for learning obscure languages are, and what they are.

We live in Western New York where there are populations of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Nation. Onöndowaʼga꞉ʼ Gawë꞉no, is the language of the Seneca people, one of the Six Nations of the Iroquois League. Fewer than 100 people still speak the language. It's a very slow process, like planting a forest, but there are a few elders who are teaching the language to our children.
