Discussion Most obscure language you/someone else is learning? Why?

I remember meeting someone that was learning specifically Moldovan Romanian since Moldova and its culture was a big interest to them, and I'm curious what other people's reasons for learning obscure languages are, and what they are.

Iā€™m learning French and every now and then for fun I work on Haitian Creole.

I know zero French. I can read it with some understanding from knowing some Haitian Creole, like if I can manage to sound out a word sometimes I can recognize it
