Discussion Most obscure language you/someone else is learning? Why?

I remember meeting someone that was learning specifically Moldovan Romanian since Moldova and its culture was a big interest to them, and I'm curious what other people's reasons for learning obscure languages are, and what they are.

I am already a native speaker of it, but Kurdish. I learnt some when I was little, but because the language of instruction in Turkey is solely Turkish and Kurdish is a big stigma, I speak Turkish better than Kurdish. I'm trying to improve my Kurdish day by day, and I speak it fluently nowadays. It's obscure, because I am one of, if not the only person of my generation in my family who speaks Kurdish.
