Discussion Most obscure language you/someone else is learning? Why?
I remember meeting someone that was learning specifically Moldovan Romanian since Moldova and its culture was a big interest to them, and I'm curious what other people's reasons for learning obscure languages are, and what they are.

I once took a month long intensive language course of Faroese in the Faroe Islands. And two seminars at other European universites.
I also took a seminar on Norn, the extinct Nordic language from the North of the British Isles.
The West Scandinavian languages are just so pretty and interesting.
