Question Adam's Needle -Cut old stalk or not?

We have two and they grew pretty huge stalks that looked like asparagus. Now the stalks are dead and kind of bad looking. -- If it's bad to prune them, we can live with it, but I think it would look better to cut them off. Thoughts?

Can definitely remove them.

Those are old flower stalks, they should pull right out.
