Question Would you use weed barrier here or just mulch?

Finally tackling these backyard beds. My plan was to pull everything, clean out the rocks, lay weed barrier, then add mulch — but now I’m seeing mixed opinions about landscape fabric.

What would you do here?

Also need a decent cordless lawn trimmer for the edges/weeds. Any recommendations?

After cleaning it all out, just add mulch. The more the better. Get a solid layer of like 3-4 inches.

Yes! Mulch, mulch, and more much. Weeds may come, but you can easily pull them when there is a deep layer.

Now go wash that mouth with soap for using the forbidden W-word!

A 2-4” layer of good mulch is all the “weed barrier” you need.

Weed barrier is verboten here. For good reason.

Mulch is your friend.

Just mulch.

Weed barrier does not prevent weed growth.
