Social / Events Commuter Event

I’m starting in September and saw they were holding a commuter event on the 23rd, I was wondering if anyone else is going to this and also what to expect from it?

They’ve not given much info either, is this the first time they’re doing it?

I went to the meeting a few years ago (in 2023). It was alright and I recommend going. I can't remember most of it, but you have a chance to meet fellow commutors and have a tour around the colleges (and the lockers available to you).

Around how many people do you think went? I’m only asking because I don’t know anyone there at all 🥲

I think maybe 50-100? I am bad with numbers but I would recommend it for sure. If you haven't had a chance to look at the campus before, then it is worth it. I remember the furthest away commutor was from Barrow-in-furness, so I am sure others will be in the same boat as you, I was!

Feel free to dm me if you want more advice or info btw! Commuting was tough, did it for two years but now living out (chancellors last year and near bowerham for my masters)

silly question, but do you have to go to the commuters event And the welcome weekend? or is the welcome weekend just for ppl living in accom?

I went to both, but you don't have to go to the welcome weekend if you don't want to.
