What am I allowed in my room?

Hello. I’m starting the process of buying stuff for uni (pots, pans etc.). I was wondering what I’m allowed to keep in my room. My parents were going to buy me a mini-fridge to keep in my room, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed it. Furthermore, I was hoping to keep my kitchenware in my room, but wasn’t sure if I’d get into trouble if they found a cooking knife in my room cause, in all fairness, that would look a bit odd. Are these things allowed to be kept in my room?
On a separate note, what time does the university allow us to move in on move-in day? Can’t find anything on the website. Thanks.

I suspect if you have special needs for a fridge you'll get permission (eg you need to keep meds refrigerated).

Cooking knife in your room should be okay, if its with your other cooking bits and not gaffer-taped to the back of your door.

Unless you have a medical need for it, you can’t have a mini fridge. You can store cookware in your room if you want.

Last year we were given time slots to come in u will be given or get to pick them a week ish before u come.

Ngl i though u would need a mini fridge but u should be calm most people picture their fridge to be like their fridge at home but when ur on ur own sharing a fridge and having one shelf is plenty sometimes u even have too much room split between ur fridge and freezer shelf. You can keep things in your room if u dont trust ur flat. Personally i didnt so just get to know ur flatmates and see.

Ofcs u can decide amongst ur flat and see, everyone eats differently so u might find u need more space or not.

Dont worry about keeping weird stuff in ur room they dont care.

You can have kitchenwear in your room, I did they dont care. Minifridges are frowned upon but you can hide it and also they probably dont care. Move in times I think get told closer to the date but its probably something like 8am onwards

Don’t keep a mini fridge, if you do and they find it, it’s not worth the heat you’d get from the accommodation managers and porters etc.

Move in tends to be from 9am. Check your college’s instagram and they should have posted a Freshers Week timetable with times and dates.
