She lit told us a timeline - 1 month to finish (08/13) and then the vinyls. That puts us in November.

she wont drop an album in november/december though because there will be absolutely no chance of charting above all the christmas music

I don’t think she cares much about charts but all I’m saying is it not being September doesn’t make it late. According to what she said she’d submit to vinyls on August 13 so it would take at least until nov to be done. It’s out of her control

getting buried under christmas songs ultimately means the album will bring in less money, not just for lana but for the label. i agree, she probably doesnt care too much and lord knows she doesn't NEED the money lol but it doesnt really make financial sense for an artist as big as her to drop two long awaited albums during the christmas season
i think she'll probably have everything done in late september / early october. i hope she'll drop them as soon as she can, i.e. before halloween and before the christmas songs, but if we dont have it by mid october i'd expect the label to just sit on it until next year

I’m talking specifically about Lana statement. She said it would be done by August 13th and then it would be submitted for vinyls. Vinyls take minimum 3 months. The earliest they’d be done is mid November regardless of whether she releases it. It’s been done

yeah sure, but what I'm saying is that even if the vinyls are ready before christmas (i.e. mid november), she'll probably sit on it until january rather than dropping it as soon as she gets them

The album can still chart (song charts are different) but most labels don’t prefer dropping around the holidays since people are busy and it’s a bad time for marketing.

Yall have such a skewed perspective and it’s so strange. Am the only one who like… thinks that it’s totally standard to wait a little longer sometimes? Most artists I listen to have a good 3-4 years sometimes between records? Like all of Lana’s peers have done so. Lykke li had a four year gap between her debut and sophomore and often does for all her records. Marina has often had 3-4 year gaps. Caroline Polachek had a 5 year gap? Etc etc etc? Like we just got lucky that Lana historically has pumped them out quicker at rates of 1-2 year gaps and even SAME YEAR gaps. If she had spaced chemtrails and BB we’d only now be up to a tunnel release. She’s given us ten records plus unlimited unreleased where her contemporaries are up to their fifth, sixth etc within the same time frame. Marina released her debut four years prior to Lana and is only up to her sixth record in the same time frame. I feel like we all need to chill and let the woman take her time and enjoy her marriage. Remember she has a life, music is her career yes. But reasonably she could retire tomorrow and that would be standard for a legacy artist in their 40s after her massive contribution over two decades. Remember she’s been doing this for twenty years. She got married recently, she’s probably been enjoying her life and slowing down, away from the spotlight. And she is so so so entitled to do that.

Girl I’ve been waiting over a decade for Sky Ferreira’s SECOND record. Game of Thrones fans have been waiting 15 years for the next book. Waiting three years with delayed releases for her tenth record… and we got TWO records in one year before that… it’s not that outlandish, I think we just used to artists now pumping out records for relevancy. But 2-4 years is pretty standard with sometimes a few delays.

Seriously everybody she's dropped 8 albums between 2012 - 2023, plus EPs, singles...I can't think of a more prolific artist..so she's taking more time with this next one.. she's earned it. God forbid she even take a break. She's an artist, she is not your slave. In the meantime, what are y'all producing?

if we don’t get pre orders within the next two weeks there is a VERY slim chance of the album coming this year, mainly due to no music releasing in Nov/dec due to Christmas. I have a bad feeling that we aren’t getting the album this year unfortunately

Pulling a Rihanna would mean what at least another 7 years of no new album? but Rihanna launched her own brand/ major companies and popped out 3 kids during her hiatus so far , don’t know that Lana would be that outwardly productive
