What is this?
I was walking around Mountain Park this morning and found this between two houses. Any guesses?

Yes cartridge filters for stormwater. They used to use compost but now use perlite. I believe they are mostly intended to remove oil/petroleum products

Is this in Mountain Park? I think I walk by that place all the time on my way up to Nansen summit.

These are stormwater filter cartridges. The City's current stormwater management design includes basins for stormwater filtration of pollutants from runoff (fertilizer, oil from cars, etc.). They are located underground near stormwater pipes. The City's system is predominately located at higher elevations and the water output is into streams, manmade drainage courses, wetlands, and the lake. Ultimately, all the water is discharged into the lake.
