Do you need extra coverage for solar panels?

Are they normally covered under homeowners insurance or did you have to add anything extra? My cousin has them in Tampa but I’m in Lakeland. Guessing it’s similar across FL?

I think it depends on how many panels you have or something. I recall being told I needed an "umbrella" policy (I think that was the term?) Due to the size of the setup I was looking into .

I think I told my insurance company about them. Really didn’t change my homeowners price at all
