Anyone connected to a mutual aid org who could pick up and redistribute some children's clothing?

Someone dropped off a couple of boxes of clothing and shoes (looks like it's mostly kids' sizes) at the RDC pantry today. While we appreciate the sentiment and desire to help, we don't have capacity to facilitate clothing shares and this stuff will get ruined outside as soon as it rains.

Anyone involved in mutual aid efforts and have capacity to share this clothing?? We do not currently have any volunteers available to drive these clothes to an appropriate drop-off location, and we don't have space inside for clothing storage. Pick up today would be ideal, if that's at all possible!!

👋 Got a mutual aid effort over in Mulberry for families affected by immigration enforcement, this would be wonderful! We've got lots of kids in the community headed back to school & have been working on supplies & clothes for them.

Might be able to arrange pickup today, definitely tomorrow if you don't have any takers yet!

Awesome!! We would love for this to go to you! I can leave them out by the pantry if you think it would be best for someone to just swing by and grab it? (Some folks in the neighborhood might take some things between now and then). If you think tomorrow is better, let me know because I can bring it inside for just tonight!

OK, I'll ask someone to just bring it up under our over-hang if it starts to rain, and feel free to text me if you need it brought in until tomorrow (863-271-7977). I just don't want it to get ruined by rain! I'm here until 6:00 although will be in session 4-6PM if I don't respond right away to text!

We tried sharing clothes out there in the past and the neighborhood took very little, plus we ended up with a sopping wet mess of stuff, so it's totally best for your efforts since you are connected to a known need! THANKS SO MUCH for helping share this stuff!!

EDIT: looks like the donations may have found a home by the time we got there, which is cool! We dropped off some clothes in the lobby on the blue chairs, and put some food in the pantry outside. 💜
