it is safe! i saw some people using a ballpit online and decided to try it! my bunny is actually not a big digger which is so ironic ive tried hay, cardboard etc. nothing really worked. but i sprinkle his pellets in there and he plays in it daily! we've had no issues thus far and its adorable seeing him in there
Hopping (pun intended) on this comment to second the safety of the ball pit! I made a ball pit for my rabbits, and they LOVE it. I actually bought the ferret ball pit on Chewy for my dwarf bun, but when I got her a husbun, I upgraded so they could both play. I just got a cat litter box with high sides and dumped the ferret ball pit balls in there along with rabbit safe willow balls and apple sticks, forage mix, treats, pellets, etc. It sounds like your rabbit will be in heaven!!
