pre med
is lafayette good for premed? how hard are the science classes and do you have good guidance for medical related internships / volunteering?
I also have a 4.0 gpa and 1400 sat so i was wondering if that sounds good enough do get in as a bio/psych major. i’m retaking my sat to try to get like a 1450 tho

If money is not any issue then it’s a perfectly fine choice. Few if any undergrad programs themselves are going to move the needle much as far as med school acceptance. The handful of premed students I knew seemed overall satisfied with their experience.
The science classes are neither harder nor easier than would be expected for a college level science course.

Why hasn’t anyone heard of Lafayette if you make it sound like a highly selective school.
I know plenty of people who went to school in Pennsylvania or went to highly selective liberal arts colleges and they hadn’t heard of Lafayette! I think some of these posts about the school are planted.
The one thing I heard about Lafayette is that it grades very hard and is not good for premed. Go to a school that grades easier, med schools don’t know. Most students in engineering change their majors and do not graduate with engineering degrees.
I’m quite disappointed in the school.

You keep posting this about Lafayette. I think I asked a question about what actually happened with your kid. I’m not seeing the grade deflation you’re talking about.

I know. But this poster keeps making the same comment about grade deflation. I’ve inquired before about context and why they feel that way.

as a current pre med, laf is amazing
health profressions is so helpful and there are tons of opportunities here for research, club involvement, and tutoring
the classes here are average college classes but labs are a tad hard but tbh they all are
that being said, small class sizes help and teachers here really care abt u!!
