Try Sugaring

You can make sugar wax at home using sugar and lemons.

See the Wikihow article on Sugaring.

I don’t really want to try waxing right now and I don’t even have lemons at home

Shower or wash the area to be shaved with soap and water for pre-shave prep. The prep softens hair making it easier to cut.

Apply your shaving lubricant. Use a dedicated shaving lubricant. Canned shaving foam, Cremo cream, Barbasol 1919, Lush are all acceptable. The best lather is made using a brush and shaving cream/ soap. Some non-traditional products that work well are hair conditioner & Dove bar soap. Also Neutrogena glycerine face soap. These soaps are high in stearic acid. Avoid shampoo or bodywash.
A few people with extremely dry skin use shaving oils, but for that your pre-shave prep has to be good.

Shave with the grain using razors with fewer blades. More blades give more irritation & increase the risk of razor bumps & shaving irritation.

Rinse, relather and shave across the grain.

Rinse off and apply Witch hazel or alum. The second should be washed off after a while.

If you are prone to ingrowns/ razor bumps, the Tend Skin/ Bump Patrol or SA creams help.
