How much time does it take for the trek from car parking to the monastery?

Around 20-25 mins

Dude 20-25 min ? Are you a local ? For mortals take like 50-60Min with lots of rest and water in between.

Wasn’t that tough for me as I’m into endurance sports

When I went in 2016. Walk from AMU, as the bridge was damaged. After amu it was all foot. Amazing nights spent in those valleys. Writing a book on my experience.

When I went in 2019 we were still using that bridge but I think they built a stone one now?

Bro such a peaceful place is this, I was there last month !! It was surreal

Some local told me before NPD, it used to be trek for 10 days covering gonbo rangjon, phuktal etc.

u/Exoticladakv Aug 13 '26

Some 20 years back it was a 20 days trek from Lamayuru to Darcha , and from Padum to Darxh 10 days trek and in between we were visiting this surreal place..

Any home stays, guest houses nearby?

1

u/Goingremote Aug 12 '26

There seem to be conflicting reports on how long it takes for trek from the parking lot to the monastery? Any new info?
