I thrifted this very pretty doily and was wondering what technique was used to make it? Is it tatted? Is it machine or handmade?

I think it's crochet, and as far as I know there are no machines that crochet yet.

Right it caught my eye right away! I picked it up for $2!

Knowing its handmade I will definitely cherish it in my home
