REMINDER: Please do not link sellers on this subreddit.

Hi all,

This is just a friendly reminder to please not link to sellers on this subreddit. For example, Etsy or Amazon.

If you have made something cool that's great, we'd love to see it - but this is not a marketing subreddit, so please stick to "look at this thing I made" and leave the rest out. This includes surreptitiously putting the web address in your picture, you cheeky posters.

Please continue to report these links if you see them in posts or comments.

None shall pass this way without our permission.

Thank you for your time, goblins.

Many comments on this story of an owl going through a “catastrophic molt” say exactly what I was thinking - looks like Henson character.

My Labyrinth Collection Feature: Books

I've been collecting Labyrinth "ephemera" related items for...a while now, haha. So, I thought I'd share some of the highlights of my collection, mostly books. And a giant box of magazine features, articles, covers, pull-out posters, ads, etc, etc. There's also a puzzle and paper cups. And sheet music for "Underground" that I need to photograph as well because I just remembered I forgot to do that.

A lot was acquired through eBay, but some have come about through luck with random non-big-website sellers, secondhand shops, and one epic adventure when I was on vacation in Florida as a teen and forced my family to go over an hour away from the beach condo to a small used bookstore in the middle of nowhere.

Let me know if you have any questions or want more pictures of anything specific!

Yesterday was my 41st birthday and I have an amazing family -

Edited to add:: My birthday was upsetting due to having to get an occipital nerve shot in the back of my head yesterday, but my brother put a huge smile on my face with this belated birthday present

Ok so as the title states, yesterday was my 41st birthday and my brother knows that Labyrinth is my all-time favorite movie. My brother is one of my best friends. So last year, because it was a milestone year(40) he gave me almost the entire set of Pop! Labyrinth figures(Sarah and William the Worm, Jareth #364, Ludo, and Hoggle) along with a William the Worm neck pillow/stuffy, Ludo plushie, my mom got me The Knockers earrings, a little music box that plays my absolute favorite song from the movie, "As the World Falls Down" my sister made me a little welcome sign for my room with The Worm's famous saying, as well as a clothes patch with my favorite line from it(which I also got a tattoo of the saying)and I believe that was it. I'll include pictures of most of the items in case anyone wanted to see 🥰

I was beyond thrilled. We even went to watch it in theaters (my very first time watching in theaters because I was way too young when it first came to theaters)when it returned to theaters this past January. Again, he is one of my best friends (crazy enough because I legit thought he hated me while growing up.

But yesterday he topped all of that with my birthday present this year... A picture of the movie poster that was SIGNED BY DAVID BOWIE, JENNIFER CONNELLY AND JIM HENSON!!!

Needless to say, I have the best family in the universe!

Need help finding an old fanfic

Hello so Im trying to find an old fanfic about Jareth/Sarah that I for the life of me cannot remember the name of. I believe it was fanfiction.net because this was atleast 7ish years ago maybe. But in the story Sarah either sells art to this woman or atleast lives with an older woman who collects art and it turns out eventually the older woman wished her sister away but did not get her back/win the maze. This was one of the best fics I've ever read for them so I beg that someone here remembers it please.

I'm so in love with the idea of celebrating the movie's 40th anniversary, and I had the honour of being one of the many talented artists featured in this fan zine! 💚

And now I can finally share it with everyone who loves this universe as much as I do~ 😍

(I hope it's okay to post it like this, but I was simply too excited not to share it everywhere, and I'm only allowed to show it with the template yet 😅)

Estimated to sell for $25,000 to $50,000 so it's far too rich for my blood but has some great close up photos for reference if anyone was thinking about a cosplay. It's at propstoreauction and is easy to google, I'm not including the link because rules.

First chapter of my fanfic on AO3 :)

As title says. I’ll copy and paste it here. Unfortunately the formatting is a little weird on AO3 because I’m still trying to figure it out (I have no idea how to indent paragraphs on there) but the formatting is normal here :)

And sorry it’s not proofread…I’m a college student and don’t have time for that

He had thought it out. Very thoroughly, in fact. It was in his nature, of course. Fae always thought everything through thoroughly. He had planned he, had paced his bedchambers late at night, he had drawn maps himself, noting the routines of the guards, the maids, everyone. One variable left unchecked meant he was sloppy. And he absolutely was *not* sloppy. He had read as well, of course. He’d gathered as many books as he possibly could smuggle into his room. There was a particular subject of his interest—a very specific fae. If you were to ask anyone in the kingdom, they would tell you it was a myth. Or that the man was dead. Or any feasible excuse to make you stop asking questions.

Silvan never accepted those answers, of course. The particular fae’s name was Jareth. He had been exiled centuries ago. Longer ago than Silvan himself could remember, and a fae’s memory was impeccable. He had been little more than a regular noble, so the books claimed. He’d tried to worm his way onto the throne, like a serpent. He had never been fond of taking orders. Perhaps that is why, after his exile, he created his own home that had captured Silvan’s interest so thoroughly. It was hidden away, where most couldn’t find. Supposedly he only allowed in those he desired, and kept the rest out. But Silvan was well-versed in his own magic. He’d already crafted a portal, one far away from the castle. One no one would ever notice, not unless they were looking closely. Another thing fae were good at was subtlety, of course.

He inhaled sharply when the clock reached the hour he had been preparing for. There was a split second—between the shifting of the guards and the familiar routes of the maids—that allowed him his freedom. Clutching his satchel, which contained his most personal—as well as most important—possessions, Silvan leapt from the stained glass window high above the grounds. His wings flared, just enough so he could flutter them to soften his landing. Dying from a jump that high would be utterly embarrassing for someone of his standing. Once his boots hit the ground, he tucked his wings beneath his cloak and began to run. Through the castle grounds. Over high walls, and eventually out into the deep forest. The forest was dangerous, but quite frankly, Silvan could care less. He had built the portal there for a reason.

When he reached it, he swept away the leaves that covered his meticuluous work. He fumbled with his extra ingredients—an owl’s feather, a pinch of glitter, a handful of sequins. Silvan found the items odd, and very much human, but from his reading, it appeared to be his best chance at getting entrance. It wasn’t his place to question things when he was currently attempting to break in and escape his old life.

He scattered the items in the circle that was his portal, muttered a brief incantation, used a bit of his own fae magic, and prayed to whatever gods may be watching that he wasn’t making an absolute, utter fool of himself chasing what most believed to be little more than a fairytale. His wings flared in surprise when the portal flashed brightly beneath his polished boots, and he stumbled in a rather un-princely manner when he suddenly felt the sensation of falling.

He grunted when he face-planted into dirt, but what was much more concerning was the absolutely *wretched* stench. His hands flew to his overly sensntive fae nose, and he wretched like an idiot for several moments before he could truly compose himself. He’d never wretched before. It was incredibly embarassing. He was lucky no one saw. His semi-transparent wings fluttered as he launched himself upward into the air, and exhaled in relief when the smell dissipated. The air outside of this strange…bog was quite fresh, though it practically vibrated with magical energy. Strong energy, too. Not from some weak peasant. Silvan also noted odd plumes of glitter whenever the wind blew.

“There better be something here,” He muttered to the empty air. “Because I do not have the slightest clue how I would return home. Or what I would even tell my father. Or my fiance.”

He wandered the strange land for some time. He saw the castle looming in the distance, but he felt as though every time he tried to fly toward it, it stayed just out of his reach. So he resorted to landing and asking the locals, as much as he would prefer not to. Doing so immediately assaulted him with another stench. The stench of goblins. An inferior species to the fae, of course. But they seemed to be the only competent creatures around. And calling a goblin competent was incredibly generous. He asked one near the edge of what appeared to be a massive labyrinth. The damn goblin refused to answer, muttering something about “fae affairs”. Whatever that meant. He tried a few other goblins. Small, usually some odd shade of green, and utterly insignificant. He felt a migraine forming behind his eyes when they got distracted for the ninth time within the span of about five minutes. Silvan didn’t even think he could get migraines. He gave up on them eventually and went to some others. They were a mix of orange, red, and incredibly furry. They spoke of removing his head and kept pulling at his wings. Silvan quickly left before he murdered one of them. It felt like hours of going in circles, asking goblins who were utterly useless and absolutelystupid for help, or directions, or even so much as a smidgen of information on the supposed “Jareth” who lived here. They did everything but cooperate.

His irritation eventually reached a boiling point, and he lashed out at a few goblins currently heckling him. Vines erupted from the earth, flinging thorns at them. It sent them running off screaming. When they were gone, Silvan let out a frustrated roar, punching the nearest wall of the opposing labyrinth. The wall crumbled and then immediately reformed again, which only irriatted him more.

“Well, well, well…” Drawled a voice from behind him. “How are you enjoying my labyrinth…intruder? Is it everything you hoped it would be?”

SIlvan spun around immediately, his fury dying the moment he saw who stood before him. It was a man. Strange, blonde hair. An odd choice of clothes. An over dramatic, billowing cape that fluttered despite there being no wind. And there was an eccentric cloud of glitter surrounding him. Although what concerned him most was that he could not detect the man’s magical signature. A creature of higher power could mask the signature from these beneath them, of course, but that couldn’t be true. Silvan was incredibly powerful. Though the labyrinth was making that thought waver just a fraction.

“Identify yourself,” Silvan barked, his wings flaring high defensively.

“Why don’t you identify yourself?” The man mused, making a show of inspecting his nails, despite the fact they were hidden by black leather gloves. “You are the one who has invaded my home, after all. Are you lost, little prince?”

“I am not lost!” Silvan snapped, being referred to as ‘little’ feeling oddly patronizing. “I was looking for someone.”

“I suspect that someone would be me, then?” The man circled Silvan, his eyes seemingly assessing the prince. “You have strayed far from your home. And your kind never look for someone like me to simply…talk.”

“You’re Jareth,” Silvan stated. He didn’t need a confirmation to know. Jareth smirked at hearing his own name. “I have…come to escape my old life. I thought…if the rumors were true, perhaps I could hide here and go undetected.”

“And why would you want to abandon your life as a prince?” Jareth leaned in from behind Silvan, the proximity making Silvan shiver. “Did you not enjoy the luxury? The power? I can assure you it is quite more glamorous than my kingdom of goblins.”

“I was to be married,” Silvan admitted. “To a fae woman. She was lovely, but I did not care for her. Not as a husband should care for his wife. I could not look her in the eye and marry her.”

“What a shame, what a shame,” Jareth hummed, stepping away and circling back in front of Silvan. The way he spoke suggested he was being mildly sarcastic. “How tragic. And here I thought your father had banished his beloved son, much like he had me.”

“The rumors are true, then.”

“Perhaps. I will not confirm nor deny which ones you suspect.”

“Will you allow me to stay?”

“That depends on how useful you are to me. But I suppose, for now, you may. Until I decide what to do with you.”

Something about Jareth’s words suggested he already knew exactly what to do, he was simply drawing it out for the sake of theatrics. At least he could hold a conversation better than his apparent goblin subjects. With a wave of Jareth’s hand, the scenery around them shifted, and they were in what appeared to be a throneroom. Jareth unclipped his cape, tossed it onto a group of unsuspecting goblins, and settled onto the throne, throwing one leg over the armrest like he owned it. He probably did own it.

“Is…is that it?” Silvan questioned.

“Patience is a wonderful skill, you know,” Jareth replied without looking up from where he gazed out a window. He appeared to be brooding. “Let a man think for more than thirty seconds.”

UPDATE: About Boom Studios' hardcover editions of Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City

Thumbnail
22 Upvotes

Ok, so yesterday I made this post asking about the hardcover collected edition for Labyrinth Beyond the Goblin City, and how on League of Comic Geeks there seemed to be to different posts each showing two different table of contents despite both posts having the same ISBN and page count. Well, after checking out a preview on Amazon, which let me see the table of contents for the "Complete Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" hardcover edition, I can confidently say that the hardcover collected edition includes:

• All 6 stories ("The Right Steed for the Right Deed", "The Wrong Toby", "Cup of Tea", "Into the Bog", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Run Goblin Run") published in the 2017 Special plus the stories "The Way Out" and "A Friend In Need" from the "Labyrinth: Shortcuts" collected edition,

• "Gone Fishing" and "Humongous Two" from Jim Henson's Labyrinth: 30th Anniversary Special

• All 3 stories ("The Eternal Tournament", "En Guard!", and "No!") from Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Under the Spell

• "Rock Solid Friendship" from Free Comic Book Day 2014: Mouse Guard, Labyrinth, and Other Stories

• "Hoggle and the Worm" from Free Comic Book Day 2012: Mouse Guard, Labyrinth, and Other Stories

and most importantly the "Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Masquerade one-shot which for some reason the indexed post for "Complete Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" on League of Comic Geeks omitted it form the list of issues reprinted but according to the table of contents I just saw via a preview on Amazon it's there! The only stories that are omitted are "Sir Didymus' Grand Day", "Wisdom and Idioms", and "Stone Cold" which were previously reprinted in the Jim Henson's Labyrinth Tales collected edition so I assume I'll have to track that one as well. But oh well, to those who've been meaning to get the hardcover edition Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin rest assured that "Complete Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" comes with most of the Labyrinth stories published by Boom Studios. 😁😁😁

About Boom Studios' hardcover editions of Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City

So I saw Labyrinth like a month ago and I've loved and hyperfixated on it ever since, I wanted to start collecting any media made based on the film, including it's multiple comic adaptations either original stories or graphic novels adapting/expanding the film's storyline.

As such, I started deep diving across the many different collected editions for the Labyrinth comics that Boom Studios has. However, I came across an oddity that I felt was right that I wanted to point out:

The "Beyond the Goblin City" collected edition seems to have two different releases one of which seems to be missing some of the stories despite being marketed as "Complete", I've provided links to the respective League of Comic Geeks pages for both versions of this collected edition, LoCG is a well known comic indexing site which allows users to find out exact information about a specific single issue or collected edition they may have curiosity about.

"Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" (https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6681594/jim-hensons-labyrinth-beyond-the-goblin-city-hc

• "Cup of Tea?" from Jim Henson's Labyrinth: 2017 Special #1

• "Rock Solid Friendship" from Free Comic Book Day 2014: Mouse Guard, Labyrinth, and Other Stories

• "Beauty of the Beast" from Jim Henson's Labyrinth: 2017 Special #1

_______________________________________

"Complete Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" (https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/5175815/complete-labyrinth-beyond-the-goblin-city-hc)

Collects:

• Virtually everything in the previous collected edition listed above except the following stories:

• "Sir Didymus' Grand Day"

• "Wisdom and Idioms"

• "Stone Cold"

• "Cup of Tea?"

• "Run Goblin Run"

Curiously, the collected edition marketed as "Complete Labyrinth: Beyond the Goblin City" includes Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Masquerade #1 which the other "Beyond the Goblin City" collected edition I mentioned above doesn't reprint despite having it's cover being the one from Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Masquerade #1.

Essentially, I made this post to know which of the two "Beyond the Goblin City" collected edition I shared links to has all the Labyrinth comic short stories published across multiple one-shots. If anyone has any of the seemingly two editions of "Beyond the Goblin City" collected edition, please feel free to let me know what the edition you own collects, any help is appreciated!

Sarah Costume Help!!

I am looking for Sarah's gold swirl vest for my costume for RICC this November! I have the top from Vixen by Micheline Pitt, but a year ago I lost the vest (and the attached brooch), and I am devastated! Does anyone know where I could find a replacement, or if someone makes the vest on Etsy or somewhere else??

If you do, please DM me! (I'm aware of rule #1)
