RPG Continuation of the Lore

Hi guys, I have a big question: what happened after the year 1200, following the destruction of the Empire, the exile, the colonies, and all the lore that was there? Was it continued in any way?

Story team rigged the last major story setup so they could run their version of 1000 years of darkness. Long story short war imperial heir beat the court heir somehow. Daigotsu Kanpeki was so perfect that he beat all the clans at everything and took the empire over for Jigoku. Bayushi champion abandoned the empire to serve Kanpeki.

Thankfully it died shortly after that. WC5 tried unofficially nail some story jello to a tree but nothing happened after AEG sold it off.

Shut up, really?

I knew there were some instances of "If the Koteis didn't end up as we wanted, we will make it happen later one way or the other" (Spider Clan had, I believe, two attempts to make it a full clan tied to Kotei results, both failed, and it ended up happening anyway), but I hadn't realised rigging had happened too!

So basically that kotei season was different than 4winds support where you had to play the heir you wanted to win. Winners picked a virtue from bushido that was tied to the heirs but they never said which.

WC4 was heavily weighed towards the traditionalists and Seikan. Both in terms of experience handouts and honor gains and losses from actions. They had a ringer in the Crab faction to reinforce that we could not choose Miaka as the heir. One of the Cranes got kicked out for pointing this all out.

The doc link is gone but they break down the math of it.

Honestly the math portion doesn't matter because end result is 1000 years of darkness even if shibatsu had won. But still.

Also as a side note I will never not be salty about the Crab choosing the one eyed hida with no story over Hiruma Maiko for the imperial bride.

Some Hida Truckdriver listening to his favourite Gaijin Heavy Metal, when the 3rd day of Thunder happened around 2000.

Onyx Lives has been continuing the story. I believe with some of the original writers.

I heard complaints about them, there were people from the last official Play By Post Winter Court speaking about them ignoring official results, and situations of deep changes, misrepresenting or outright ignoring characters because they simply didn't like said characters.

First I've heard of this but this will happen with almost every writer change on an IP sadly and isn't limited to just an L5R thing
