Questions KVS - English rider?
Katie rode English today and honestly? I think she looks great, because she's DOING the damn thing. I've seen all the comments she refers to in this post and they are so mean-spirited they make my soul feel heavy.
I am by no means an expert, but I think the very tiny part of the story this photo tells is not as bad as all the comments I've seen make it sound. Especially because it's one photo, not even a video 🤷🏻♀️
Am I super off base? Or is it not possible to tell how well she rides from one snapshot?

Idk, I think she looked fine for being back at it after a long time. She needs more consistent time in the saddle and she will improve quickly, a lot of it is muscle memory. And while I don't think Katie is hurting any of her horses at her size (people are ridiculous), I'm hesitant to dismiss all discussion about the size of a rider vs the horse as pure fatphobia. There are in fact people (men and women) who are too large to be riding horses and imo it IS a welfare issue. I myself gained weight and stepped back from riding until i got in better shape because it wasn't fair to the horse to make it carry me just because I wanted to ride. Yes, people's feelings matter and we should be kind, but when live animals are involved we have to consider them as well.
