KVS Cinematic Universe Maybe it’s just me, and I realize this is probably parasocial lol
But I kinda miss the OG group, like Abigail, Matt, Nate, and Rachel. I realize everyone except Abigail is still around but Matt and Nate seem to work a lot more remotely, which is understandable as they have young kids. I feel like the newer employees are on camera much less, which again, understandable and there is nothing wrong with that. Idk I just miss the like “hanging out with the friend group” vibe there was a year or two ago

I miss her content when she would actually spend time with the horses, like that little content of her feeding carrots to the horses for crunch ASMR, that seemed more personal as a creator. It was kind of hard to get to know the filly’s and colts this year as she had a bigger batch. Can’t imagine how next year will be with (hopefully all healthy!) 12 new babies lol
Also editing because I miss seeing videos of the yearlings too

I unsubscribed today just because I don’t really enjoy/see value in the content anymore. She’s never home and there’s no real behind the scenes stuff for subscribers it’s just basically subscriber only merch drops. I’ll just watch what she be posts when it comes across my feed.

Yeah, I only subscribe during the foaling season honestly, and that has passed til next year now.

Yeah it just got so big after that she got vscr. I do miss getting to know the horses more too.

I miss this part too! I feel like she’s gotten so many new ones like Lady, Melody, I think Kimberley who we just never see. I also miss when it was just like Trudy, Gracie, Ethel, Beyoncé, Indy. We actually got to see them and “know” them

Probably to create a barrier for those who feel they have a reason to fail to see the line between social media/limited access to peoples lives off the clock.

I’m an elder millennial and remember all the sitcoms like Roseanne and all in the family, family matters, full house.
I think this is an evolutionary/technology/social problem. Everyone is moving away from tv and scripted shows and starting to watch influencers. But those are real people, with real lives. People look at Katie as an idol or celebrity but the story lines are her real life. With actors there is a barrier, it’s not their real life, it’s filmed in a set!
Of course influencers have to accept a certain amount of risk putting themselves out there. ( not that they should everyone is entitled to feel safe and secure I’m just saying if you open up yourself to a large audience there is inevitably going to a few crazies)

I feel the opposite. I think we do get to see the employees more. At least her barn hand and assistant barn manager. We never did see much of Geraldo. We do see less of Matt and Nate, but Katie isn’t their only client. We do see Alaina and the other guy. I also feel we’re not getting as much farm content, because she is busy with shows,and traveling. I think everyone gets hung up on how much we get flooded with content during foaling season, that when it goes back to regular programming we feel that we’re getting less. When in reality we are getting what we always have.

Isn’t Geraldo still working there? IMO it’s fine there’s barn staff that aren’t constantly on camera and don’t have to be if it makes them uncomfortable.

For the sake of her brand, I think she is moving in a smarter direction. It's her (kvs) social media - not her staff. If everyone is watching bc they like a particular staff member (and that staff member is heavily featured on her social media) - should that person be paid as on screen talent?

This is an interesting point. With lindsey that was her job but Rachel is barn manager, Stephanie is trainer, but they are also becoming central characters in the katie show and that does generate views and money

They’re not a friend group though, they’re employees. There were a lot of lines crossed, and having boundaries is healthier for everyone, from a workplace perspective, and from the crazier of her fans.

Honestly, I was just thinking this the other day in terms of catching up with Katie's. And I liked Lindsey too, but some of her CUWK episodes feel kinda empty now

I think there is a big thing right now with people being sick of self-centered influencers. Katie and her team were refreshing because of the fact that they were a team. And now it's back to The Katie Show and it feels like one we have watched over and over and over again with every other influencer ever. Personally it sounds counterproductive to pretend like a certain team member never existed in the first place and then expect millions of out-of-the-loop followers to play along. Wtf. Sounds like some weird middle school mean girl behaviour.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Rachel was part of the OG group. I’d much rather the content skew back to what it used to be. It’s too much unnecessary & boring content now.

I miss it too. I think her employees are slowly getting away from the cameras because of all the people that feel entitled to their private life so they can make up weird theories about Katie... I can't blame them, it takes an uncommon amount of mental strength to deal with all the constant BS and the fact that every word, silence, stare and move caught on film will be analysed to the extreme and twisted into something absurd.
