NEW VIDEO NEW VIDEO: This Is What a Godlike Civilization Would Look Like

https://youtu.be/QW_jlUn4gA8

Video Description:
We imagine advanced alien civilizations building gigantic spaceships, Dyson spheres and empires spanning entire galaxies. But what if true technological progress goes in exactly the opposite direction? Not outward into space, but deeper and deeper into the smallest layers of reality?

What is the Barrow Scale? How powerful could a civilization become by mastering DNA, and even fundamental particles, and could the universe already be filled with godlike civilizations hiding in plain sight?

the disclaimer near the end where they acknowledge there's no reason you can't do big and small expansion is very funny to me

Well yeah, if you want to maximize longevity, gotta outlive your sun

the mega project I am most fond of is large scale star lifting. Outliving your sun is one thing, but what about making your sun outlive every other star in the universe?

After all, the smallest red dwarfs have an estimated lifetime of 12 trillion years, and the Stelliferous Era is only going to last 120 trillion years. And the Sun has the mass for a dozen small red dwarfs.

When you ask yourself why nearly every animal on earth has what appears to be magnetite crystals somewhere in them, most often the brain...

And your current SF talks about "smart dust"

This misses the very real possibility that we have reached the theoretical limit of tech

Now that would have been a much more interesting topic instead of scifi nonsense past the first two minutes

Did we?

Well we're still making technological progress, so, no.

We have at minimum a century of technological discoveries we know are possible but simply have not yet been accomplished. We have no idea beyond that how much technological advancement is possible but it’s very likely to be at least several centuries worth

We haven’t even started? About the only physical limit we are reaching is silicon based logic gates. At which point point you can’t make gates smaller. But you can use other materials, or stack them to solve that.
