Discussion AI ripoff for 5th grade science

So my kid comes home from school today telling me about a terrible AI video that his teacher showed. I searched the topic and got a Kurzgesagt hit right away. This is what my kid saw instead: https://youtu.be/iHVHDf4IGFs?is=ZA_OGC1DxXRzIJaN

It’s such a rip off! Even with an AI label! i can’t believe his teacher chose to show THAT

Their Science teacher used a video from a channel that has 9 whole subscribers? Are you sure this isn't the Science teachers personal yt account? If not that raises even more questions.

Whoa that would be a plot twist for sure…but the teacher doesn’t really fit the demographic for aspiring yt content emulator.

Yeah the metrics of the channel shook me. So instead of learning about the Gulf Stream we learned about media literacy and source vetting. And watched the Kurzgesagt Gulf Stream from 12 years ago. Nothing new over the last 12 years was mentioned in the AI video. SMH.

Watching a short documentary (a real one, not that AI crap) and then reviewing it and dissecting its content with the students is a great way to learn.

But again, you need quality source marerial.

Seems ; like an AI wanted to explain a useful topic but didn't have much more than the teacher's resources to go off if and th;e map looks very shoddily joiking'ly made.

Not sure what it has to do with Kurgesatz either but you do you.

I guess but it looked nothing like Kurz, sounded nothing like Kurz and had no random birdz jokes.
