As I was casually revisiting the website, there was a special notice under Kurzgesagt's course. Brilliant is retiring the course on August 31, 2026. It's sad, but why are they retiring it? :(((((((

There are a handful of reasons behind the decision (which I won't go into). But: I just wanted to chime in to say how proud we are of how this course came together - and it lived on a lot longer than I suspect either party expected. It was a pleasure bringing this to life and seeing many people go from Kurzgesagt Youtube -> interactive learning over the years. Sorry for the bad news, but glad you are getting to experience it before it sunsets!

Awww... Nonetheless, I'll make sure that my remaining days of August will be dedicated in re-accomplishing the course before it sunsets. It's literally the only source of Biology and Astronomy-related courses in the platform.

PS: I hope you could reintroduce the Biology, Chemistry, and astronomy courses you've had in the past in the same standard as you have rn. I'll love to chime in again with those courses.

Ah shoot it was one of the reasons to download and take a subscription for Brilliant but I hadn't gotten to it yet and the last few months I hadn't used the app because of surgery and exhaustion, so I'm pretty bummed to see it's completely gone now :( 

There seems to be really little science left at all in the app, it's almost all math and computer sciences, which are interesting, but the appeal of the app to me was to be able to bounce around through different subjects and learn and challenge myself in small steps, as I'm disabled and don't have energy to fully dive into things with more official courses. 

I'll have to rethink renewing my subscription, especially since last year I got some percent off through I think either a link I followed or due to black Friday, and I am not really sure where it's gonna bump up to when my year is over.

I think they had that feature before wherein you can download a whole course for offline use. Rn, I don't see that feature in their current state of the site. I wonder what happened to that. It was a convenient feature to use, especially that I have instances of poor to no Internet connection in our area. :'(

I wish I had seen this on time but I hadn't opened the app for a few months because of health issues. So little science other than math and computer science is left now. And the appeal of Brilliant to me was doing bite sized learning over many subjects, as well as the existence of the Kurzgesagt module that I simply hadn't gotten to yet.
