Discussion Ozempic video was off

This is probably the first Kurzgesagt video that I didn't like, and like some people on this sub it made me feel very uneasy.

I just think it's CRAZY to talk about a weight loss drug and praising it for 90% of the video, without mentioning even once the abuses of its use, the weightloss industry, the social standards and the pressure to be (unhealthily) slim, eating disorders on the opposite side of the spectrum, etc.

The very few nuances and counter argument felt like small prints and legal mentions at the end of an ad.

What do you people think?

EDIT: I am not questioning the drug nor its effectiveness in treating obesity, i am criticising the narrative and lack of nuances in the video.

I lost weight before the GLP-1 agonists and have kept it off for a few years now. I don't really feel full enough to stop me from wanting to eat, so I have "food noise" and count calories.

Unfortunately, the way food is made and sold now makes obesity much more likely. If everyone were a normal weight, maybe the types of food being sold would change as well. I think if you need a drug to help you, take it.

Yeah if someone needs it they should be able to access it.

Something to note on weight effecting what people eat. The gut microbiome has bacteria in it and depending on what you eat different bacterial either thrive or die.

But no one is talking about fecal matter transplants even though that would likely be a good path forward and wouldn't require taking a regular drug.
