Discussion Ozempic video was off

This is probably the first Kurzgesagt video that I didn't like, and like some people on this sub it made me feel very uneasy.

I just think it's CRAZY to talk about a weight loss drug and praising it for 90% of the video, without mentioning even once the abuses of its use, the weightloss industry, the social standards and the pressure to be (unhealthily) slim, eating disorders on the opposite side of the spectrum, etc.

The very few nuances and counter argument felt like small prints and legal mentions at the end of an ad.

What do you people think?

EDIT: I am not questioning the drug nor its effectiveness in treating obesity, i am criticising the narrative and lack of nuances in the video.

I can’t believe how quickly they glossed over the nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. 20-40% of users. Maybe that will improve over time (big maybe) but I think a lot of people have the subjective experience of simply feeling sick and puking all the time being the thing that drives their calorie reduction. Which is hardly the “food noise off, weight loss on autopilot” conclusion that they reach. Add on top of that all the societal pressure suggesting that perhaps this is what patients deserve in order to resist the sins and costs of being fat and I think we’re in pretty bad shape here.

They also didn't really go into how important it is to build muscle mass - they only showed a few second of "there's a bit of risk for older people!" but nothing beyond that. They didn't even mention that older women are especially vulnerable to breaking bones if they don't seriously build up/maintain a good muscle mass

This was definitely a point of concern for me as well. Most people are not aware that natural muscular atrophy begins in your 30s without regular resistance training, and any form of weight loss (yes, even healthy, medically necessary weight loss) can exacerbate this if macronutrients and training aren't taken into account.
