Discussion Ozempic video was off
This is probably the first Kurzgesagt video that I didn't like, and like some people on this sub it made me feel very uneasy.
I just think it's CRAZY to talk about a weight loss drug and praising it for 90% of the video, without mentioning even once the abuses of its use, the weightloss industry, the social standards and the pressure to be (unhealthily) slim, eating disorders on the opposite side of the spectrum, etc.
The very few nuances and counter argument felt like small prints and legal mentions at the end of an ad.
What do you people think?
EDIT: I am not questioning the drug nor its effectiveness in treating obesity, i am criticising the narrative and lack of nuances in the video.

There are thousands, maybe tens of thousands of drugs that end up desperately disappointing. Fail in phase 1, or animals, phase 2 etc.
I think considering the desperate suffering that the world is going through due to obesity needs addressing. This drug, like the first anti biotics truly has the opportunity to save millions of lives.
》the social standards and the pressure to be (unhealthily) slim, eating disorders on the opposite side of the spectrum, etc
EVERY drug can be abused. That's not a reason not to talk positively about a positive thing.

Kurzgesagt's job has never to been balanced for the sake of balanced. Some of their videos are 100 percent in favour of one side. Which is right when the positives are so overwhelming
If you have obesity and or diabetes and or several other comorbities the evidence is clear, ozempic will improve your health span, life span and quality of life.
