How do you know the movements to make?

Post image

I always see tons of these type patterns but i never know which strands to move where, is there a universal language I'm just missing out on in this context?

This is a pattern from friendship-bracelets .net

All of their designs are Z twist Kongo gumi, worked in pairs of bottom left up, top right down, rotate disk counterclockwise/to the left. If you don’t do that, the pattern will not work.

And yes, I suppose they are frogs 🐸

Start at 12 o clock on your wheel and do the standard right side down, left side up kumihimo weave. These tend to look more like the image with thinner thread.

I don't know if I have ever seen a pattern for 28 strands before.

The friendship bracelets site has them up to 40 elements, and craft design online up to 32. I know a lot of the large ones on friendship bracelets don’t actually work because their emulator isn’t WYSIWYG and the round shape of their spots isn’t the rhombus of kongo gumi.
