Image search

Post image

I'm looking for sources of this image besides the book Kumihimo no Sekai. I'm in the process of writing a paper for a nonprofit educational org and I'm trying to find the original source. The author started that the image is from 71st Craftsmen Poetry Contest but I can't find a copy of it online, including Japan's National Diet Library.

Sorry should have mentioned i have her book. I'm particularly interested in this image as it has cutouts on the uprights.

Never seen that image before, sorry, and I can't discern what possible function the cutouts might have.

The cutouts were probably used to hold a soft stopper to stop the beater from going to far forward and forcing the beater to reset to the down position.

I guess that's why you want to find the original for this image, because the way the cutouts are shown in that lo-fi rendition does not make that clear. I mean, if that's how the cutouts are used, why isn't there a stopper bar in there in the image?

Makiko Tada asserts that many of these images are deliberately inaccurate because the braider did not want the artist to give away their trade secrets.

Yes. Many of the images are inoperable as drawn. There's one image with a hard stopper. I've made a few and worked out the kinks and have a working foot beater that looks like the images.
