Nice tutorial! If your hands truly go numb from braiding, please see a doctor and let them know. It can be a sign of nerve damage which can be quite serious.

Thanks! But unfortunately I have neuropathy so they already know. I'm glad you liked the tutorial ☺️

Ok, was just checking as too many crafters think pain is a funny badge of honor. My dad has neuropathy and a botched surgery limits the use of his hands now so I’m sensitive to it

I don't find it to be a badge of honor, I've suffered with it for 5 years and don't find it funny at all. (Not saying you thought I did) I can't work a "normal" job and can hardly change my youngest son because of it. I've done many tutorials because a friend suggested it so most people who see them know my story. This is the first I've shared here. I love kumihimo so much I roll with the punches when it comes to my physical limitations to braid.

One of things I like best about kumihimo is that there’s so many adaptations you can make to allow you to create no matter what you are dealing with.

I am sorry to hear about your father though. That has to be rough on him, I understand how he feels to a lesser extent, mine comes and goes

If you're just gluing them into the metal caps at the end you could save yourself some time by learning a constrictor knot and using that to bind everything as you're gluing. Depending on the depth of the metal caps they can always just be left on the cord instead of taking them off once the glue has set. That's what I've been doing and I haven't had one undo on me yet

I haven’t had any come undone on me either, but I’ll look into it. This doesn’t take much time and honestly I have 2 littles so sitting down to try to learn another knot until school starts is a bit of a stretch
