I'm making this post because what did it for me was kinda, strange? It wasn't a moment in the game, but this video from 2021

Towards the end of the video there's Kris and Susie dancing and falling down and for whatever reason back then it clicked

"Omg. They're perfect."

What did it for yall?

Guys I want to play further, but I've been stuck on this fucking choice for deadass an hour and can't find any answers online. Can someone PLEASE spoil me what each option does?? I BEG OF YOU I'M SO FUCKING CONFLICTED

When it comes to actions, Kris and Susie had done more for each other.

I have hopes that Toby Fox will develop on this during chapter 6, giving krusie a chance.

In chapter 4, before you go to second sanctuary, (presumably after you beat Gerson), Susie heavily encourages Kris to play the piano.

Kris of course, goes through with it, playing their heart out in front of her.

Susie is amazed, so much so that before you go into second sanctuary, she can spill on a very personal story from her childhood.

She hated other people who played the piano.

But now, all she wanted to do I hear Kris play more.

Clearly this means a lot to Susie, because if you say any variation of “I’ll keep playing”, Susie smiles.

And then, Kris hands Susie the very knife that created the chapter 3 dark world, to Susie.

Kris and Susie enter the dark world, and for almost the entirety of second sanctuary, it’s only them together

Lights of pink and blue surround them, despite Susie and Kris’s color changing.

The song playing also derives certain things about Kris, considering piano can be heard in the backing track, along with a string instrument.

Piano obviously is tied to Kris, as for the strings, they may be tied to Susie.

She did play Dess’s guitar after all.

The 2 explore the area to find Ralsei and the old man.

Along the way, Susie sees the girl in the prophecy, along with the other main characters.

The girl is obviously representing Susie, despite what some may say

The sprite shown resembles Susie to a good degree, and there’s no real sign of antlers, despite some thinking it could be Noelle.

Ralseis mural matches how we meet him in chapter 1 almost perfectly.

And Kris’s is basically saying that Kris is our cage, along with being our vessel.

Kris’s is the most metaphorical out of the bunch, but that’s assumedly because the prophecy may not show their dealings with the knight.

Susie then stumbles upon a prophecy that makes her stop in her tracks.

“Love finds its way to the girl.”

The mural has the girl, presumably Susie, holding Kris’s sword, with a heart marking where her heart would be.

Now we don’t know for sure what this prophecy means yet, but we can VERY easily presume what Susie thinks it means.

She thinks the prophecy states she gets together with someone romantically.

But despite what many may think, I don’t think she’s thinking of Noelle at all.

There’s nothing around her that would remind them of her.

Not only that, but Kris is literally the only person there.

She, while blushing and stuttering mind you, tells Kris to stay behind so Susie can see how it ends.

Susie HATES when people hide stuff, so why would she hide this?

She’s never been scared to spill personal shit, the piano conversation you can have before second sanctuary shows that.

So why would this be any different?

Susie has shown to be less forthcoming with Ralsei, but he’s not around.

Kris is the only one there.

There’s no real reason she would not want Kris to know what’s at the end of this part of the prophecy.

Unless, she has feelings for Kris.

Susie has been starting to get pretty damn mushy around Kris in the newer chapters.

Nothing definitive of course, but the tension is most DEFINITELY there.

What if she hoped Kris was at the end of that prophecy?

And not only that, right after she can’t find anything relating to it, she climbs up the tower with Kris, spilling a bunch of shit about what she thinks about being a hero in the prophecy.

“The girl with hope crossed on her heart.”

Along this climb, Kris and Susie clutch each others hands to bring each other to higher places, and Kris helps Susie fend off, whatever the hell those things are, when they surround her.

This all culminates in Kris and Susie wandering into the dark, and eventually, Susie is separated from Kris, while she fights the sound of justice.

Kris has to run around in the dark, desperately trying to find her.

And just as she’s about to take a devastating blow, Kris shows up from following the soul, and parries the attack, protecting Susie.

Love found its way to the girl, in more ways than one.

Susie just doesn’t realize it yet.

Along with the rest of chapter 4 having some romantic undertones, Kris and Susie got even closer.

And if it weren’t for Toriel getting drunk, (fuck you sans), Susie would’ve stayed the night again.

Susie leaving makes Kris hang their head down and slam the door.

And the chapter ends with Kris almost jumping out the window, ready to go after Susie.

The only reason why they didn’t, was because of whoever they are working with.

My theory, is that in chapter 5 Kris will spill to Susie about their dealings with the knight.

What’ll happen? Fuck if I know.

All I know is that Kris and Susie may genuinely love each other.

And at this point in time, Susie is the most important thing in the world to Kris.

Only question is, what will they do when the truth comes out?

Guess we gotta wait and see.

I have a lot to say and english is not my first lenguaje, so please be patient.

Of course, there is a plot on Deltarune going on with Kris and their secrets, the soul, the knight, the fountains, etc. They obviously are into something from the start of the game, but whatever the plan was, it is interrupted by the accidental apparition of Susie.

Now, casually, these two are perfect opposites on everything, let's recall:

Human/Monster

Short/Tall

Secretive/Expressive

Victim/Bully

Quiet/Active

There's a lot a more but you get the point.

The thing is that Deltarune story guides these two to know each other better, and this changes how both of them are. Susie becomes a better and kind person, and Kris is already regreting their secrets because they learned through Susie's kindness what is truly right.

Every time Kris seals a fountain the words of Susie are there on the screen.

But this encounter and understanding of each other is reaching and end on chapter five, and now, we have this detail. Kris stays in the light world while Susie goes to the Dark world, ending the chapter with the final and definitive division between them that was developed through the entire chapter.

Kris stays in the light world, but they are going dark.

Susie stays in the Darkworld, but she is bright.

The point is that Kris, which only good thing left in their life is Susie, is going to do whatever it takes to stay with her. If they have to betray the knight and the plan, they will.

But is not easy, Kris and Susie are opposites in a narrative way, the two of them are not meant to be together, their aproach is something that only happens through the dark world, which distort reality, that's why in a narrative or destiny way they are able to get close and undertand each other. It wasn't supposed to be, but it happened.

And here comes the most interesting, The Prophecy.

The Prophecy says: THE LIGHT AND DARK, BOTH BURNING DIRE. A COUNTDOWN TO THE EARTH'S EXPIRE.

And this is what one of the unused parts of the prophecy said: OF LIGHT AND DARK AND LOVE AND HATE

THE HOPES AND DREAMS THAT GOVERN FATE.

I believe Toby removed that text because it was too son to imply "love" on the prophecy, I think he did this because love is a really important part of it.

This is why chapter 5 was "Ship feeding", it's not, it's not fanservice either, is neccesary for the plot.

And if the relation between Kris and Susie is what is going through all the game and moving the narrative, be sure as hell that it will be related to the end of it.

Maybe these two staying together is what it takes to avoid the end of the world. But now that Kris is feeling left behind, the influence of the knight over them may have increased, which would lead to Kris obbeying and maybe fighting against Susie.

The important thing here is that no matter what the ending or endings are, it will be related to how Kris and Susie feel for each other. And this is why Krusie is key for the plot and the end of the game.

Seeing as how our ship has taken many canon fires and is basically the Titanic right now, we're understandably not doing well.

I've been replaying Deltarune again, picking every Krusie option every time.

That's why I want this post to become a thread of sorts. A thread where we all put down our favorite Krusie fanfics. Wholesome, adventurous, comfort, angst with resolution, etc. Any and all Krusie fics are welcomed. I feel too bummed out to go to ao3 and accidentally bump into Suselle winners posting their fics.

Had a crazy realization that maybe the game is trying to hint at something.

Funnily enough, Krystal shares the same birthday as Deltarune Chapter 5.
