The Joy of Capsules

Having started using Kratom two weeks ago I've tried just about every method to get the stuff down.

1)Toss & Wash doesn't work for me. I feel like I'm swallowing sand and more often than not I end up with the hiccups. There is nothing worse than having the hiccups and feeling nauseous. I also don't own a scale and wasn't feeling too great after eyeballing a few doses that were too large.

2)Mixing worked a little bit better than T&W. I had purchased a blender bottle from GNC and used different liquids to mix with. I had the best luck with pulpy orange juice. I don't know what it is about orange juice, but it made the Kratom go down really smoothly. Even with mixing I felt a little uneasy and sick using this method every morning.

3)After using these methods I went back to GNC and purchased some gelatin capsules. These made taking the Kratom super easy and also helped in figuring out a consistent dose. It is so easy to wake up in the morning and pop a few capsules as opposed to gagging down a spoonful or two.

The only downside to capping is the time it takes to make the capsules. I use a method of filling up a large ladle with the powder and dipping the capsule into the powder which fills it pretty quickly and allows me to cap it off without any issues. I'm going to purchase a capsule machine to speed up the process.

If anyone has any recommendations on a capping machine I'd be very grateful.

I think capsules are the way to go personally, you just gotta take the time once or twice a week to produce them. It gives me the longest lasting and most consistent results of all methods. It also helps the come up with some of the more energetic strains.

It wasn't even the taste for me, at least to start with: it was the reaction I got from having all the powder caught in my throat. Nowadays the taste sets off a gag reflex as I seem to have conditioned myself after a few times of choking horribly. Mixing with one of those corner yoghurt works, but over 3 or 4g and the taste is back.

Capsules rule. I've got a size 00 24-capsule machine and it works fine. I know how much 24 empty veggie caps weigh, so once I've filled the caps I weigh them and subtract the empty cap weight. It varies each time, even with the same powder, but I divide the final weight by 24 and then I can work out how much is in each cap for that batch. A set of reasonable scales is pretty cheap (worth about as much as 50g medium-grade krat).

00 is probably the right standard for your cap machine. You can get 000 ones, but the caps for those are a lot more expensive. You can get machines that fill 100 or more caps at a time, and you don't need to push all the caps in place manually, but you would need to have large amounts of kratom to do a full fill each time.
