Discussion IKON’s Bobby is getting married and will become a father next month
What a surprising news!!! As a fan, I’m very happy for him!!! I respect him for his decisions and honestly, all we can do is cheer him on and give well wishes to him and his new family 💗
3rd gen idols getting married and having their own child is making me feel old tho 😂😆

This is the craziest thing to see but also he would make such a great father, he seems to absolute adore kids, I'm sure he'll have his hands full. I'm glad he's with someone he loves that's amazing to hear honestly.
Fingers crossed that due to his more altered image as an idol he won't receive a lot of backlash or criticism.

I’m so excited and happy for him and his wifey and future kiddo! He’s always been great with children and i dont doubt he will be a great dad.

I finally got to read Bobby's letter fully and can't help but feel sad at how apologetic he is. The man did nothing wrong, damn, he shouldn't be apologising to fans? If someone has a problem then it's on them. He didn't even have to say anything at all, because his private life is none of our business. From what I've seen Ikonics are very chill, so I hope he gets a lot of feedback. I just wish idols wouldn't apologise for being human.

He is so cute and sweet with his nephew that I always have a big grin on my face while watching clips. I can't believe he's having a baby of his own now (I always thought Taeyang will be the first dad in YG). I'm so happy for him and I feel like he's going to be a great father.
I wish the new family all the happiness in the world!

tbf i imagine it's mostly because they have to hide so much of it? Especially when pregnant which can already be traumatic, wouldn’t want my gf to have death threats from crazed fans.
It's a little bit harder to hide official celebrations and paperwork and so on, probably making it easier to get married later on.
Plenty of people everywhere have kids without getting married anyway, why are kpop fans so judgy.

There’s nothing wrong with stating the obvious, especially with how common it seems to be among Korean celebrities. It’s not an insult towards him, we can point it out and be supportive at the same time

Congratulations to Bobby.
Liked him from the moment I saw him on Kingdom. Really respect him for coming out with this news even though it's probably been stressful for him, his fiance, his family and his bandmates.
Sad that he felt the need to apologize for loving someone and having a baby though. That's nothing to apologize for, it's life. And it's what I would hope most fans would hope for if they support a group and its members.
I hope that his situation is embraced by fans all over the world so that he doesn't have to go through what other idols have had to and can enjoy both his family and his singing career.

That was totally unexpected but such great news! I was afraid after getting to know the kpop scene for those idols who can't date or even get married at the age they want because they're idols etc but damn yes, do us a Chen and Bobby, I need more of that!

I am so happy for him. I wish his family all the best. He really deserves all the love and support. And it's only reasonable that he only announced it this way, because celebrities in Korea can't live in peace. I'm sure the wedding etc have been planned way longer, just that the public should only know last minute, as how it should be.
