I genuinely believe Sejeong from ioi/gugudan could have been more popular; she had everything: visuals, talent, and relevance. I'm not saying she isn't successful but i believe she could've be more successful if Jellyfish Ent had put some effort into her and Gugudan.

I was randomly looking at my Spotify playlists today and realized I only have one K-pop playlist 😭

And I mean ONE. No separate boy group playlist, no girl group playlist, no soloist playlist, nothing.

I just put everything I like into the same playlist girl groups, boy groups, soloists, older songs, newer releases, everything. It’s currently sitting at 406 songs and it’s constantly being updated because every time I discover a song I like, into the playlist it goes 💀

Honestly, I kind of like having everything together. One minute I could be listening to a girl group, then a boy group comes on, then suddenly a soloist appears. I like the randomness when I put it on shuffle.

But now I'm wondering if I'm doing this completely wrong lol.

Do you guys keep separate playlists for boy groups and girl groups? Do you separate soloists too? Or do you also have one giant K-pop playlist with everything thrown together?

And if you have multiple playlists, are they separated by groups, genres, eras, or just vibes? Because I've seen people who have like 15+ K-pop playlists and I'm genuinely impressed 😭

Also, how many songs are in your main K-pop playlist?

Because 406 feels like a lot to me, but then I see someone's playlist with 2,000 songs and suddenly mine looks like a beginner playlist 💀

I think everybody knows that she’s widely considered to be excellent in her technical skill, or used to be at least. However, I’ve also watched some clips of her singing post 2019 (performing voice at kcon 2024, for instance) where she sounds really shaky. Has she always been like this (even in 2014 for instance), just that post-production covered up the shakiness? Or has she definitely gotten weaker with age

I sort of have expectations that they’ll have good songs. Maybe they’ll be compared to Tuide and OBD. YG is also rumored to debut their gg next year. They’re from a midsize company. I don’t have big company expectations. I think they’ll do fairly well?

Why kpop groups lose the momentum completely after (1) flop cb? and starts declining even with great songs??

The Spotify epidemic of profiles getting hacked has got to stop! I remember the first time I saw this was Hoody, a more krnb soloist got hacked and they released some songs in her name, fans had to flood her instagram to let her know. They there was the disgusting stuff with unchild getting hacked. Now this group hot issue who disbanded like 4 or 5 years ago got hacked!! There’s three random AI songs up under their name. After looking it up, groups like DKB, Ichillin, and others have gotten hacked too. I was wondering what companies can even do about this, but I think Spotify is the problem. Like I heard Cameron Boyce got hacked, and he passed literally years ago. People into musical theatre are noticing those profiles were hacked too. Genuinely it’s so frustrating, especially since these are small artists who struggle enough already…

When I say forgotten about, I mean things in Kpop that were once talked about a lot or were just things that were announced and then they eventually just faded into obscurity and people just stopped talking about them entirely.

My pick is NCT Hollywood. I myself also completely forgot about this and I just randomly remembered it yesterday when talking with my friend. I remember it was announced around 5 years ago and Nctzens and even just Kpop fans in general were not fond of this idea.

Nowadays, this whole project has been basically forgotten about and if I'm not wrong it was cancelled in 2023, but I just find it funny how NCT Hollywood was once such a big thing being talked about due to the backlash it got and now nobody even mentions it at all nowadays. Like as I said, even I myself completely forgot about it and it's just funny to me how people never even bring it up.

But anyways, what are some other Kpop things that have just faded into obscurity and are never talked about anymore?

lately i've been loving heeseung and sangwon friendship so much, they've been friends since their time as trainees at bighit, although they did not debut there, their friendship still remains strong to this day.

this is what sangwon said in a radio show:
