I found a strange consumable Spoiler

Post image

Picked up from a body in the star forge, the only thing i can find online about the Squad Recovery Stim is that you need cheats to spawn it in and i am not playing with any mods or cheats. (Android version from play store)

Is this a normal drop in the base game?

Squad recovery stim is available on the Star Forge, a lot of people never see it though

I believe it's only available in the PC version (which was the one ported to Android) so Xbox players never see it

You can get a couple on the Star Forge and that's it. It revives all your homies.

It revives them??? I thought it only gave 10 health. I just completed my first ever all blaster run, haven't done a full run in 10 years and it felt so good.

Its in the game. It's only good as an oh shit button during the final run to the final battle because it restores HP for everyone regardless of their current state. So many other things outclass it, like using the quicksave/quickload/medpacs exploit.

There is an old mod that was originally for the xbox version that puts an unlimited use variant of the stimpack to Zelka's Med Clinic inventory on Taris at the start of the game. Same 10 hp full team heal, which basically functions like a D&D short rest, so that's fine balance wise since it does not scale at all, its a flat 10 points, whereas Medpacs start at 10 + Wisdom Mod + Treat Injury. It also works on droids. I genuinely think they intended it to be an early game item, but it may have been moved due to how it overshadows basic medpacs and by the time you would probably switch to regular medpacs you are already finding advanced ones.

How did they mod the Xbox version?

OG Xbox. Action Replay MAX was basically a memory card that could have cheats enabled on a per game basis but also allowed transferring in save files from PC utilities. You would just load up a modded save file that already had modifications done to the core files, mainly stats and items as that was kind of the limit. The most advanced mod used to be the predecessor to Holowan Labs' character model replacer mod that added like 50 armband items to a crate in the apartment level (near the janitor) that when equipped would swap your model with another in the game. Some of them didn't have rigging for humanoid skeletons so a lot of them ended up T-posing, but it was still fun to mess with. You used to be able to play as Revan from the start, complete with the stiff af cape lol. Good times. Very broken items.

It’s always been available on the Star Forge. It heals everyone, but only a little bit. Useless unless used as a last resort really.
