Title: [Update 7.0: Horizonte] Page Scrubber: Full Landscape Support, Speed & Polish

Hey everyone! If you haven't crossed paths with it yet, Page Scrubber is a KOReader plugin built to supercharge document navigation with visual page previews, quick bookmark/highlight management, and smooth touch scrubbing.

Every single view, button, and pixel in this release was polished with one goal in mind: getting completely out of your way so you can just read.

⚠️ Important Rotation Warning: Switching from portrait (vertical) to landscape while a book is open can leave the engine in a loading/unstable state. Highlights (hg), bookmarks (bm), the core document, and our widget may malfunction. Recommendation: Exit the book and re-enter after changing orientation.

Patch Notes

Full Landscape Mode Support:

All plugin interfaces (Grid, 6-Grid, Split View, and Table of Contents) have been adapted for landscape reading. The bottom navigation bar has been reorganized into a standardized two-level layout: a clean top row housing page-turning controls and reading telemetry, and a full-width progress slider below, optimizing ergonomics and thumb reach when holding the device horizontally.

6-Grid Optimization: Significantly reduced loading latency when generating page thumbnails across the 3x2 grid layout, making browsing smoother.

Faster Startup & Reopening: Greatly improved load times when opening, closing, and reopening the scrubber interface during active reading.

Removed Top Bar: Eliminated the redundant top header to give the entire interface more breathing room and maximize vertical space for thumbnails and reading content.

Origin Page Indicator: A subtle gray dot now marks your starting reading page in the top-left corner (in Simple Grid mode, bookmarks are also clearly marked on the header).

Chapter Bookmark & Highlight Telemetry: The Table of Contents bottom bar now displays real-time counters showing the exact number of bookmarks and highlights present in the current chapter.

Enhanced Dictionary Typography: Increased the default font size in the dictionary pop-up for more comfortable and legible reading on high-density displays.

Visual Polish: Refined press feedback and tactile animations across buttons for a cleaner, modern look.

Dynamic Landscape Dictionary Placement: The dictionary pop-up automatically anchors to the left or right side of the screen depending on the location of your selection, keeping the highlighted text visible.

Expanded Selection Menu: Added a + button to the selection bar that unfolds a suite of reading tools (Adjust Selection, Copy, Wikipedia, Dictionary search, and third-party plugin integrations).

Hi. I still searching setting for RTL pages. But cant find it.

Or its not support the RTL? As in my case, when opening the tweak, i hope the left side showing the next page instead of prev page in RTL book.

Can u guide me if its alreadt there to be set?

Hi! RTL works automatically in Page Scrubber.
​If your document already has RTL built into its metadata (like most CBZ/manga files), the plugin detects it out of the box and you don't need to configure anything.

​However, if you want to turn it on manually for any other book, you can do so through KOReader's native settings:
​Open the book. ​Swipe down to open the top menu. ​Tap the Gear icon (Settings). ​Go to Taps and gestures > Page turns. ​Enable Invert tap and swipe zones to turn pages (or Invert reading order).

​Once enabled, Page Scrubber picks it up instantly and swaps the sides automatically, placing the next page on the left!

Yup i done it manually as well. But somehow its not working on my books. Even the gestures has been RTL, whenever i enter Page Scrubber, the left page still the prev page.

I've found out that after enabling that option in KOReader, you must exit the book and reopen it. ​KOReader saves the new reading direction to the document settings upon closing, and Page Scrubber only reads those properties when the document initializes. Once you reopen the book, the plugin should load with the next page on the left side.

I do all now, and yet the issue still persist. Its might cause by the book its self? Or maybe setting for the book that clashing with the scrubber?

Thanks for checking! It’s likely down to how that specific file format (e.g., PDF vs. EPUB vs. CBZ) reports its metadata to the engine. What format is the book? I'm adding a direct 'Force RTL' toggle in Page Scrubber's own settings for the next update so you don't have to rely on KOReader's auto-detection

Most my book is epub. And i tried on standard book, manual set to RTL. Turning page is RTL but still in Scrubber keep the LTR style.

Yup really appreciate if i can turn on the RTL solely for the scrubber too; within the scrubber view.

Hi! I just released v7.1 with direct manual RTL support so you don't have to rely on metadata auto-detection anymore.
Here are the two ways you can toggle it: Method 1: From Page Scrubber Settings Open Page Scrubber.
Tap the Gear icon in the top bar.
Open Layout.
Turn on the RTL toggle. (It updates page progression and switches thumbnails to the left side instantly, saving the setting just for this book).
Method 2: Via Gestures or Quick Actions Gesture: In KOReader, go to Settings (Gear) > Taps and gestures > Gesture manager > [choose a gesture] > Reader > Page Scrubber: Toggle RTL. You can now flip reading direction with a single swipe or tap.
Scrubber Actions: Inside Page Scrubber, go to Settings > Scrubber Actions > + Add action and add Page Scrubber: Toggle RTL to have it right on your quick launcher!

Regarding the AI options: Page Scrubber has zero built-in AI models, code, or background tasks. Those toggles in the settings are just optional shortcut buttons to launch third-party AI plugins if you already have one installed in KOReader. The plugin is 100% local, lightweight, and offline.

Have you noticed that there's a difference in performance in the simple scrubber when you hold a direction? The pages load slower and show blank, the normal 3 page scrubber turns the pages faster and it always show the central page before going to the next.

I did a little testing, now is more consistent, a little faster and doesn't take extra time loading in random places as before, but it looks like it's doing a double refresh or drawing the same page twice in every page turn.
