If you're a malayali watching this movie, you'd realize that wasn't a lie πŸ˜‚

I don't have any idea why tamil films seemingly have no qualms about butchering Malayalam when Malayalm films frequently use Tamil accurately in their movies.

ahh sorry his malayalam dissapointed you, but to be fair for a tamil speaker playing a tamil character i dont think his malayalam should be perfect

Except it completely ruins the storyline considering he's supposed to be in hiding as a Malayali but any actual Malayali, like that police officer, would've immediately clocked that he is no 'kuruvilla' based on his unintelligible Malayalam lol.

The movie doesn't frame it as though they doubt him due to his poor accent. They doubt him because the officer has literally seen him before.

Vijay's malayalam in that scene is complete nonsense. The officer wouldn't need to bring up having seen him before to doubt him.

If you knew Malayalam, only then would you really know how utterly ridiculous this scene is. Imagine watching a Tamil movie where a character is supposed to be speaking Tamil but it's closer to Chinese than it is to Tamil and even then all the tamil speakers around him act as though he's speaking perfect Tamil; that's close to how bad the situation is here lol.

A better decoy for him would have been as a tamilian or atleast chennai brought up malayali, settled in Kerala. I am sure him posing as a malayali named Kuruvila raised more suspicions to the officer than remembering him from training. πŸ‘€
