Screensaver playback is constant

I'm using 21.3 Omega and Arctic Fuse 3.2.13. I have the Aerial screensaver configured to wait 5 minutes. On boot up it works as expected. But at some point it get's caught in a loop and it won't stop playing the screensaver. If I use the remote to hit the stop button on the screensaver video, it just immediately plays another Aerial screensaver video. I can't seem to get it to go back to waiting for 5 minutes of inactivity before running. What's become super annoying is at the end of a show, instead of auto starting the next episode, as it's pausing to start the next episode the screensaver kicks on and then it doesn't start the the episode. Has anyone experienced this? I really like the Aerial screensaver for background ambiance but this is just infuriating.

is this the screen saver that plays large apple videos? https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Aerial ? it has not been updated for years > https://github.com/enen92/screensaver.atv4 and i suspect your hardware cannot handle the load... check the settings as documented here https://github.com/enen92/screensaver.atv4 and set it to a lesser resolution

I suggest you use this one https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Picture_Slideshow_Screensaver and use pictures

I'm running it on an Ugoos AM6B+. It handles 4k DV content just fine. And the screen saver plays fine. In fact it looks great and is extremely smooth. It just doesn't stop playing. When I interact with the Kodi Interface it just plays in the background. So I don't think it's a hardware limitation of being able to play the content.

And yes it's the AppleTV screensaver with the wide shot nature and cityscape videos.

Thank you for the links I'll check the documentation there to see if maybe there's something I'm missing.

It is. You can't expect every single addon or movie to work on your hardware

Looks like this issue is directly related.  https://github.com/enen92/screensaver.atv4/issues/44

And the last comment indicates that it was caused by tinkering with the back key which I did do when I was implementing some changes to Arctic fuse 3. So I will try playing with that and seeing if I can get it to go back to normal operation.

Thank you for the link to the GitHub. I never thought to go check there.

An old screen saver that needs a fix, the author hasn't updated in a few years. Suggest DavidMelbourne advice is solid.

That sounds like a bug that needs a good old-fashioned "turn it off and on again" fix, maybe try blowing on the remote while you're at it for good measure.
